Which is why if DCS developer & PiMax work together; it will serve to give dcs players the user experience that a 200° fov hi res modular expandable headset csn offer. Better to get games like this optimized in early steps then have to play catch up.
Plus if you haven’t noticed it is some dcs players that made the suggestion. And I’m certain you agree that DCS would really be able to showcase capabilities the headset nicely.
This will be in perfect world but as DCS experienced player in ED things is going slower than expected and they didn’t fix a lot of other things even for Rift users like for example DCS got full 3D interactive cockpit and 6DoF movement of your head/body inside but there is total nonsense cursor whit what you are interacting with this 3D cockpit is 2D spaced cross. So this is one of the major opsticle why we are not able to properly use hands true some sort of heandtracking like Leapmotion for example instead of mouse or using headtracking what is completely unrealistic and imersion breaking issue.
And this is only on DCS development part.
Warthunder is arcade comparing to DCS do it is not that detailed and no 3D interactive cockpit. War thunder is nice to some casual player and it is good entry level sim get hooked to flight sims world.
Also it is not good game for 8K where could show all its benefit because lower level of detailed. Point is from commercial perspective DCS users or similar games are best potential future user of 8K. Also good titles for it will be Il2 Battle of Stalingrad, Star Citizen, Elite Dangerous.
Point is if 8K will work good in DCS will also work even better in this other titles as well. So consider DCS as reference point for 8K possibilities.
Yes but need come manual upgrading in terms to create 6DoF tracking because it is essential in flight sims.
More about this check on this forums in several threads.
I am a VR oculus rift player and i play vr only with dcs, when i discoverd vr in dcs i was in love… i played before dcs on screen but 1time in vr i never can go back to screen…
I spend a lot of money in gear like jetseat… warthog… buttonbokses… and i am still try to make my simpit better and better… its like a verry long project and i am adicted to get the best out of it…
Every body said to me that 4k vr or 8k vr wil be for in 2020 etc… but i was thinking like thats not posible… they will find somthing…then i heard of pimax 8kx when the pimax coms out and the revieuw tell me thats its works and with a desent tracking system with dcs, i deffenly by myself one directly, and i will probebly use it only for dcs …
Its a little dream of this 35jears old gamer that stopt gaming except that studysim dcs
I realy hope it is gonna work out with you and dcs i am a fan
This will work even without ED cooperation but DCS is not optimized for VR in general, even this is best title for VR, and that is the problem.
If they implement support for Fovated rendering and eye tracking same as support for CF/SLI in VR you will be able to get tvice better performance in DCS on new 8KX on 2x1070 in SLI or even 2xRX580 in CF than it is today on CV1 and 1080ti.
About CF/SLI VR support Pimax have to do their part as well and this is must have feature because without it Pimax 8KX will have to wait more than 5 years until some new generation of single GPU will be able to run it on 2x4K native resolution on 90Hz even with Brainwarp.
I too am a long time fan of Flanker and Digital Combat Simulator. And I will for sure buy Pimax 8K if it works well with DCS. Therefore I hope Pimax and Eagle Dynamics establish a close and successful cooperation to make Pimax 8K work with DCS.
I’m really gratefull to Oculus for giving us CV1, but it’s seems to be outdated these days. It’s still giving a lot of fun but after a year flying with not really great resolution and FOV, it’s time to move on. I keep my fingers crossed for Pimax now!
