oh I see, thanks for that clarification, is the 949 deal basically the same price as plan D? don’t they get the Kdmas for free?
The KDMAS comes as a free upgrade if you keep your stretchgoals, that you automatically dont if you go for plan D. So the 8KX comes with SMAS unless you add extra 99 for DMAS upgrade.
people who have given up their stretch goals will be able to buy-back the “kickstarter bundle” for a fee, but they haven’t announced the price, but it will include the KDMAS as well as the other bits of fluff
doesn’t the $949 bundle say “opt out of stretch goals”? So in that case they would get the SMAS but not the KD speakers…

The whole stretch goal bundle will be available for purchase in the store as soon as we have sent it to all backers that didn’t opt out. The stretch-goal box will be cheaper for all backers. The final price is not set, but at least below 150 incl shipping which is our promise on NOW Event. That box will include the full KDMAS strap of course, Comfort Kit, silicone etc…

Hi Martin, everyone buying / upgrading to the 8KX will be getting the SMAS, so will there be an option for 5K/8K backers who have upgraded to the 8KX to get just the KD speakers, so they don’t need to be paying for two headbands?
(I would imagine most people upgrading will want the 2nd headband to be able to sell their 5K/8K with a MAS, but you never know)

If you used the upgrade packages, you automatically opted out from stretch goals and therefore also the KDMAS which is a free upgrade for stretch-goals. Your 8KX is shipped with SMAS. Yes you will be able to upgrade to KD speakers of course, but not for free.

Yes thats whats been reported. I have not received the KDMAS test sample yet, but I will confirm the quality and everything once it arrives very soon.

Oh well… I’m anxious to hear Martin’s judgement on the quality but am pretty sure I’ll want the KDMAS and not the DMAS that I paid for. I want to block out real-reality, like the sound of my steering wheel yanking and rattling when I run off track! …or maybe I’ll buy back the whole stretch bundle. So many options!! Pimax must have a separate division of guys with calculators who do nothing but sit around an figure out how to parse out the myriad of pieces, parts, and promises!

I understand that. In the livestream it was said backers will be able to “buy back” their kickstarter bundle, which includes a complete KDMAS - the headband AND the KD speakers.
Some backers will want both headbands because they have a 5k/8k, but some might just want the speakers to attach to their 8kX upgrade because they already sold their 5k.
The backer pack include a headband, but some buying back their pack might only want the speakers?

I’m wondering about that too. I’m planning to try the DMAS, since it should be less hot, but there’s a good chance I’ll buy the KDMAS also.

Well they need to discuss it before shipping folks tge DMAS/KDMAS.

No at times running up a set of stairs can be daunting. 
only good thing with a flag pole is no steps to trip on.
I contacted PimaxQuorra and support and at some point support asked me to confirm that I want my order to be “delayed” because I want a strap swap. And I said Yes.

Woah, I’m glad I started checking the forums again.
I had used my $100 coupon (from downgrading from 8k to the 5k+) and paid an additional $35 of shipping charges to upgrade from my backer included MAS to a DMAS in April. I did this because I was told that the DMAS would have on-ear headphones and I need on-ear headphones for my VR setup.
Now, from reading through this, it seems like:
- The included MAS was switched out to be a new thing, the KDMAS, which has on-ear headphones. So I didn’t need to upgrade to get them in the first place
- The DMAS that I used my coupon and paid shipping to upgrade to isn’t going to be on-ear anymore
- The DMAS that I paid and used my coupon to upgrade to isn’t even going to work with my 5k+?
If the strap I paid to upgrade to isn’t even to work with my headset, I certainly would like my coupon back and the additional shipping I paid for to be refunded.

Wow thanks, Yeah I’m definitely glad I checked the forums before I received a useless headstrap in the mail. I’ll go and submit a ticket to see if I can get the shipping fees refunded and my 8k to 5k+ coupon back.
