Yes, but I dont think these drivers are meant to be used as off-ear, so not sure about the volume/base/etc in that case. Will let you know when it arrives!

Jeez Pimax DOES make things confusing… offers change weekly it seems.
I used Plan C to upgrade to an 8KX. I had to pay $100 to upgrade to a DMAS. But now the KDMAS comes into existance. It is billed as the “Kickstarter Backer’s Deluxe Modular Audio Strap”. It is listed as a “Free Upgrade from SMAS”.
I’m a Kickstarter backer. So I get a KDMAS for free, right? That means you will refund my $100?
Side question… The 8KX has 2 audio jacks, I presume that’s for L and R channels. The KDMAS has only one plug for combined L and R. How does it get both L and R channels from just a single jack on the 8KX?
Can 8kx preorder customers who ordered DMAS upgrade to KDMAS? I never had any interest in off-ear headphones in the first place.
The 8k+ also has 2 jacks, the left one is dual channel and the right one is right only, so you can plug 1 cable in to the left plug and get both left and right. I would assume the 8kx is the same, or you might need to use a splitter.

KDMAS and DMAS are two different speakers, KDMAS is on-ear with ear-cups, and slightly bigger drivers. DMAS is off-ear like Valve Index.
Yes you get the KDMAS for free with your stretch goal, and you will get the DMAS as you already paid for it. I highly recommend you to have both, as they give you more options (close out your environment sound - or not). Although, in the upcoming days, we will announce the decisions made on our current meetings, regarding optional order changes or possible refund requests.

Definitely excited to hear that KDMAS speakers will be available in the store to purchase - it was really disappointing to find out that the DMAS are going to be off-ear like the Index, so the option for an on-ear form factor is much appreciated.

But plan C involves giving up the stretch goals. The billing as quoted above in my post doesn’t list it as a stretch goal.
So is it a simple free upgrade but not really a “stretch goal” and you’re wording is in error? I hope so!
I get it. Because the DMAS is louder it can be off-ear but because the KDMAS isn’t as powerful it needs to be closer to the ear so that answers my earlier question about why different straps and speakers were needed for the DMAS and KDMAS.
That suits me fine, I prefer on-ear.

Can’t you just push the speakers closer to your ears so it becomes ‘on-ear’ in effect?

I’m not sure you can do that. Looking at the Pimax Now footage covering the various MASs they show a clip of the DMAS earpiece being extended up and down but it didn’t pivot in towards the ear. Plus I seem to recall another YouTube about the DMAS showing that that freedom of pivot was not available. So it’s not like the Vive DAS.

I saw it slightly pivoting towards ears when Swe put the HMD on the table. Maybe there is some play?
I’m not a teenager, I would rather have softer sound from a larger driver. Suits me just fine.

If you gave up your stretch goals then you won’t get the backer bundle (with KDMAS speakers) automatically, but you can buy it back - pimaxusa said they were having a meeting regarding letting people refund their DMAS payment for those that wanted to get the KDMAS instead.

yes please give a refund for people that want Dmas via upgrade plan D for example, I do not want 2 audio solutions.
If you chosen upgrade plan D you have sad NO to stretch goal so you will not get KDMAS.
