No the 2nd page has the right eye image while the left is blank.
If were using the flip book we need 1 per eye where the left book has blanks on even pages & the right had blanks on the right page.
Long ago they figured if you scratched popcorn between frames pplās subconsciously crave popcorn & sales went up.

But look at it this way: basically the game renders the EXACT same image per eye, the only difference is the perspective per eye. So what would be the use of repeating that ? I donāt see it.
Take it to the extreme: a movie with only 2 frames per second. Now repeat each frame 500x per second, so total refresh rate = 1000 hz. Still ,youāre only seeing 2 frames, so it looks bad. The mere fact that youāre repeating the same image over and over doesnāt attribute to a better result.
We was discussing this already before. There is no logic in what you are talking, but OK lets say Iām wrong you are right.
Pleas answer me on some questions.
1.) How can display on 90Hz display picture in 180Hz without loss of frames?
2.) Brainwarp is made to save GPU resources. How you can save resources if you double up FPS?
Take two 90 hz displayās and run them at half a phase difference. Now you can display 180 frames per second if you see the 2 displayās as one.
Game generates 45 times per second a left eye and a right eye. Brainwarp generates interpolated images for the right eye, based on the original right eye frame.
Now at 90 hz:
T1: left eye = original left eye game image, right eye = blank
T2: left eye = blank, right eye = interpolated right eye image
T3: left eye = original left eye game image, right eye = blank
T4: left eye = blank, right eye = interpolated right eye image
etc
If it would work this way it would just be a variant on ASW. I donāt know for sure it works like this but Iād say this is the only way it would make sense.
I highly doubt this works better than ASW though.
Actually I believe, according to their Kickstarter page, they render a full 180 frames and are divided between the two eyes, and the displays are run at half phase of each other.
But then the game would still need to render 90 hz two eyes. The only improvement that this theoretically would have is that it might even look better than 90 hz.
It should look better than 90. Where there is binocular overlap it will appear to be 180.

Any idea of the pricing if your just getting the pimax 8k hmd, and not their controllers or lighthouses?
Gearbest has it listed at $900 USD for the full packageā¦ Not confirmed
I would be happy to pay $699 for the headset without controllers BUT ONLY if it works properly and doesnt have any inherent faults like the P4K

699 is to much for a head set alone! My guess for the 8k stand alone is 499

499 sounds way more reasonable for just the hmd.
I could see the 5k model being possibly $499 @Davobkk i would say would be more on the money for 8k pricepoint. Now i could see -maybe- $650 for the 8k without tracking & controllers.
Sure Iād love for it to be $100 more than the rift summer sale. But this idea is extremely high fidelity compared to all current offerings. Especially if as advertised.
Just compare the design versus the 4k; there is alot of potentially high level improvements in design & modular feature expansion. With vive & oculus the headset -by- itself is not that good at all due to poor resolution & such.
What we need is another 4way through the lens comparison.
Vive, rift, pimax 4k, pimax 8k. Then a supplementary video with the 4k model swapped out with the 5k model

Fair enough but keep in mind compared to the P4K the headset alone has 2x new customised 4k displays, New generation fresnal lenses and the new Valve tracking sensors. Also they are not backed by any large companys Facebook/HTC
Did I mention no headset on the planet boasts these specifications. Itās important they make some profit to develop their accessorie range

Nah the 5k Will probably cost more than the 8K because of the oled displays , if the 8K is $650 for the headset alone then what would the full packet to be 1000!? I canāt see that happening .
Iām guessing $899 for the full packet. Hoping for less though, who knows ā¦
My thoughts exactly pimax best bet is to offer a competitive price even though they have a better product .
