Except that Eagle Dynamics does ‘special discounts’ about 3-4 times per year, reducing the cost about 10x. I imagine the vast majority of DCS World aircraft are bought that way, with people only buying their favorites on impulse. Then some of that stuff is absolutely not worth buying for the vast majority of players, like the campaigns…

Speaking of, that remains highly urgent!

The DCS World P-51 Mustang can. Also, the FA-18C and F-16C may have much more detailed flight models, not to mention avionics. The F-16C is zippy too…

Well I know about LN2, XOC and custom bios but I had no idea it was possible to use ASUS specific bios on MSI. Big thanks for letting me know :slight_smile: Im such a noob when it comes to extreme overclocking hehe.

I’ve noted that many guys have problems with non-operating Displayports after the extreme Asus/Gigabyte BIOS upgrade. A bit worrying I must say.

Thats basically the only times I’ve purchased new modules :slight_smile: 50% off is quite a good deal!

They are on it, spoke to Alex again yesterday about it. 60Hz is a must!

Depends on how they mapped the output ports, but i’ve never had a GFX board that I could not flash the original bios back to. (just have an extra old GFX card ready) to put in the PC if all displays goes blank. you can direct nvflash64 to the specific id of the GFX cards.
So don’t be too scared to try :wink:

Awesome, thanks a lot man! Yeah it is a bit scary to custom flash a 2200usd card (crazy prices in Sweden lol) but hey it might be worth it! Lets hope I win the silicon lottery this time. Haven’t been lucky with that since 980Ti.

Once you get the hang of it and understand the flashing process, you will feel alot more comfortable with it. :slight_smile: But yes a $2200 GFX card (crazy prices in Denmark as well) neighbours… is a bit scary to flash at first.
Then how about delidding Intel CPUs ? :sweat_smile: scary too I guess… it’s fun as well but on a hardware level.
That’s one of the main things why I really really want AMD to succeed… they have allways and are still soldering their IHS to the CPU. They don’t use a booger of a thermal pad between the IHS and CPU DIE like intel has been doing since their i7 3770k (my current CPU)

Haha yep…

Regarding soldered IHS, my 9900K (which is soldered from factory) is still getting crazy hot. Not as bad as my previous 8700K but definitely not as good as I expected. Maybe my NZXT AIO is getting old, I dunno… will get a new cooler either way for the next CPU.

But yeah if AMD puts thermal pad on the 5950/5900 (which I doubt) it would be their biggest mistake ever.

AIO is OK, but with a RTX 3090 spaceheater and OC’ing both the CPU and GPU you might wan’t to go full custom loop :smiley:

The IHS is soldered with not that bad heat transfer as the result. Its said to make in the ballpark around 4-7 degrees. Not very much, but of course could be needed.
My 9900KS does 5.2 on all cores without delidd and with acceptable temps.
It wont do 5.3 anyway so no big gain in doing it.
Before delidding a 9900K you should use all possible means to increase cooling in other ways, if the temps are too high.

The AIO coolers often use aluminum and copper in the same water coolant loop. Because they are trying to make a profit from the whole system, whereas you could have bought all copper and the very best benchmarked waterblock yourself. Very bad. Algae growth has also been reported.

I’d like you to prove that, show me an AIO that mixes copper and aluminium of the H2O side of the loop.
Mixing Cooper and aluminium in an H2O loop causes corrosion and clogging

The AIO cooler I bought for my Threadripper CPU - an Enermax - failed, and has become notorious for this. At the time, it was the best available option too.

Can’t find a mention of aluminum, but I am pretty sure some is used somewhere in the loop, and in any case, the thing corroded so not great…
