I have glasses too but seriously I don’t see any distortion inside the frame or close or anywhere in the lens I guess this means the 8k will really be a good fit for me.
SwiViver, can you find any backer who can explain a little more in depth his impressions?

Exciting stuff!
One thing I’d like to hear from everyone who’s trying it out is whether they consider using the pimax 5k/8k to be a signficantly better experience than their current headset (Would be handy to know what that is too. If it’s much better than a vive pro that would be extremely reassuring!)

Well I’m happy now. I’m considering the switch to the 5k plus if it’s that much a superior panel in it even without seeing much more in reviews, the look on the guys faces say it all.

Pimax 8k is not the most important thing in the world. Therefore they seem so relaxed: They have a life beyond virtual reality. ^^

I agree.
The buildup and lack of PR from Pimax was deafening but it appears from 3 or 4 first impressions that the fear this was a lemon has passed now.
Backer summary (my translation)
- The 8K has a bit better SDE than the 5K Plus
- The 5K Plus has a bit better colour than the 8K
- A bit of distortion is there at the very edge but nothing I would bother about
- The FOV is like…real life (one backer)
- The FOV has a tiny black border at the sides (another backer)
- The blacks are yes, OK.
No mention of framerate yet so no news is good news on that front.
No mention of ergonomics yet
This is exciting stuff. I would buy it based on those first impressions. Nit picking will always come but then what else is there coming out at this FOV? Nothing soon or nothing affordable. @SweViver is obviously happy that what he has been hinting at all these months is being confirmed.
