Can somebody testing the 5k+/8K in Berlin, check which version has the better overall quality. Like the better blacks, colours, brightness, etc. It would nice if you could use the same game for comparison.
Reason: 8k backers can swap their pledge for a 5k+ version

Breaking Pimax 8k News: Pimax introduces a new version of the Pimax 5k, is called Pimax 5k Plus
Improved panel, has higher PPI because of panel size, also has higher sharpness (still LCD panel)
In retail, both versions will be sold, original 5k and 5k plus
5k plus will be more expensive
Current 5k backers will directly receive 5k plus without having to pay extra
8k users can switch to 5k plus. Difference of 100k USD can be spent on Pimax accessories.
Pimax 8k/5k plus shipping to backers will start end of September, goal: all backers shall receive their devices before Xmas ( chance of this happening 90percent)
People who missed Kickstarter: Preorders start in October, ships after last backer has received their headset. Targeted shipping start: Early 2019

a bit confusing, in the impressions video they said minor distortion on outer edges an im assumign its 200FOV mode given their description of the picture size, but in the interview the foudner said you will only get minor distorion on the 170FOV, on the 200FOV you will get stronger distrotion and we will sell eye tracking to help alleviate it.
The 5k plus will be better because you are getting native resolution over upscaling.
I think that is correct myself too. 170 Fov hides it and is still a very wide fov with some tiny black bars. A good sacrifice if it really is a tiny slice of black at the peripheral. They are continuing to fix that extra 30 fov, which i assume is 15 degrees each side.
Before we get too carried away, please all remember that these are impressions based on a short demo of select games. We will get the full picture on 16/9 and there will be a reason why the testers were not all happy & cheerful.
Having said that, it appears as if the 8K/5K (Plus) will be a decent headset improving our VR experience, albeit not perfect in all disciplines. And that I guess would already be a huge relief and great news.

I would like to know:
1. What ARE the 5k plus displays? Oled? Are they rgb stripe? Does the 5k plus do 90hz? Is the only colors more vibrant or is screen brighter as well?
2. Someone should ask mr. robin wang about brainwarp and where were at with it. Also ask about what reprojection Tech is currently being used for the demos.
3. Ask someone with controllers while playing to put their hands where the horizontal edges are, and also do that for the top and bottom vertical.
**4. Ask about the motion in both 5k and 8k while playing roomscale. **
5. Ask about tracking accuracy.
6. If a pimax 8k backers decides to switch to 5k plus, will it take longer to receive their hmd? Essentially will there be delays if they switch (especially in my case as a backer in the double digits).
