A few things I don't like about the G2 that the 8KX does better

Well on one side it makes reviewers whom promote the idea of it look bad once people learn the truth of the Actual FoV, The vive pro also has had the eye relief prior to the index release 1° difference is exceptionally minor.

Though it can say thar compared to headsets within it’s class it has the highest FoV this far for tunnel vision.

I question the journalistic integrity of a reviewer who makes claims like that and ignores Pimax.

Personal opinions aside, the product is real. It works and while expensive it is still consumer attainable.

People don’t learn, though. They use their devices with tiny FOV, every day, and still really believe whatever number they have got into their heads.

It is over 2 degrees actually. Pp is enabled by default on the index so you should look at that value. Still yeah not a big difference but the key here is of course that valve implemented an eye relief system which enables much more FoV. The default FoV with the standard face plate on the vive pro was pretty bad for me, I think 96 horizontally

Tell pimax to send out review units. Start with roadtovr. I honestly would love to hear Ben’s opinion on the 8kx. I have a feeling pimax is afraid of his honest opinion

This part I was referring to has nothing to do with pimax. The whole index fov being 130 supposedly much bigger than the vive pro when in reality they are more or less the same.

Vive pro maybe didn’t nail the eye relief as well as Valve. But both have it and I would presume the issue on the vive pro might be related to the face mask? Not giving the perceived gains being the same as the index

I would have to dust of my vive pro again but I remember I couldn’t see more than 94 degrees out of the box

That is perceived FoV we know the render gives almost the same as the index. So if the gasket is restricting it that much it makes sense why reviewers are sticking with the marketed bling

I actually thought the VoodooDE review was ok. Felt like a honest review from his own perspective and experience.

Yeah that was exactly my point, the Index accommodates for much higher FoV because of the way they built their eye relief system. I think that’s the main reason everybody raves about the index FoV.

I don’t doubt it was honest. But in my opinion a good reviewer should try to maximize the value of the review for people interested in the headset. And thus should not be limited to 'this is what I see, deal with it". It’s much more constructive for example if you mention that the Fov varies widly between person because of the way HP built the faceplates and that there are several solutions available for different face types.

Not a higher FoV. But the full rendered FoV can be perceived due to the facial gasket can be maximized with the Eye relief.

Where as even with closest setting on Vive Pro from what you said the perceived FoV does not allpw full rendered FoV. Which is quite a serious flaw in the gasket design.
