If you want to sell me your 8KX kickstarter just go ahead man, I’ll make you a good deal!
X looks helluva lot sharper.
This is X native, right?
yes, native
Its only 12mm shots, not macro so the difference is not as apparent as in the previous Assotto Corsa example, but still…
Here is the full photo size (still only maybe 120-130 degrees of the VR view):
(resolution scaled down 50% because the forums only accept max 4Mb images)
I hope we will get a few more 8k+ vs 8k ^^
There will be more. Just not tonight
But I have a bonus in a moment!
I can guess the outcome of that photo off - winner 8K+ due to the better panels and scaler.
Even better - 8K / 8K+ / 8K-X pics but I think Martin probably is over photo making and looking forward to his trip.
For me it’s X-Force all the way baby (even if it is a little derivative)
I would like to put the 5k and index in for that row
On the other hand the leap ahead to my 5k already is so impressive- very low chance that I am not getting an 8kx
8KX vs Index
Yes the image quality is not optimal, but its only a small portion of the VR view.
Dont mind the colors, brightness etc…
Also, the “moire”-effect is caused by the camera/lenses.
Indeed a big difference in color tone. Index looks smoother due the filter, but after all both looks good and quite similar resolution.
Edit. as you said don’t mind the color/contrast/brightness… theres no much difference after that, except the FOV OFC. 8k-X a bit sharper.
Wierd, to me the X doesnt look as good as with Skyrim.
Bon voyage
It doesnt show the pixels. Its not macro. OK, one more… gimme a sec
Oh yeah, better ^^, thanks for sharing !
Its 1200 vs 2160 vertical pixels, but the difference feels so much bigger than the numbers
Nite all!
The pictures are great, and I’m sure 8KX is amazing, but:
1st sentence I agree with, but near perfect view? It is still very far from it. It is sentences like this that makes us doubt what you say, because it is hard to distinguish facts from hype.
Yes, unless they have done something to the lenses. I doubt the clarity remains near perfect if you move your eyes to the periphery. It gets blurred for me in my 5K+. Unless they have done some real magic with the eye tracking. Not only tracking gaze but eye geometry and adjusting distortion profiles simultaneously. If this is the case I have no problem paying $200 for it. Although this would also make it integral necessity and should be included with the headset.
