Well, after running DDU in Safe Mode and installing the 471.41 in normal mode, 90hz still did not take.
Ended up re-flashing the firmware again & the system actually blue screened during the flashing process but it worked…

Remember, if your CPU have onboard igfx, DISABLE IT in BIOS.
played star wars squadron for one hour, blinked twice, maybe 1/3 seconds each time.

I can run my 8KX at 90 Hz with the new firmware. This is confirmed in SteamVR’s status screen.
I’m using an MSI RTX 2080 non-Ti video card, so if you have one of those, it’s worth testing with this new firmware.
Unfortunately, I’m having significant issues with SteamVR (can’t find headset). The issue is unrelated to 90 Hz operation, since I was seeing the same problem last night, before I flashed the firmware to the new version.
Works like a dream on my machine. latest Nvidia driver, 45 minutes of assetto corsa competizione torture @ 90hz. No blackouts. Currently using the default, non-optical cable, but with both usb and DP extension
Thanks a lot Finally we can both have our cake and eat it
amazing
I’ve fixed my SteamVR issue. I can run 90 Hz in Elite Dangerous - Horizons. I confirmed this using fpsVR.
90Hz Native on some of the latest AMD graphic cards
Is there a list of AMD GPUs that are supported? I’m not sure if my Radeon VII is considered “latest”
Not working for me
3090 Strix
latest Nvidia driver
Optical cable
Error, no DP connected
I noticed before install it that my version was 298, is there a previous 298 version?
Have you tried different DP Ports?
Will check my Titan in some hours.
Working OK for me with a 3080ti. In that I mean it’s running at 90Hz and I can start up a game. But I’m getting an occasional black frame/blanking as others have reported.
Going to try switching back to 75Hz.
This version and the latest pitool and latest Nvidia driver is actually working worse for me at 90hz on a ROG Strix RTX 3090. The previous version worked with the odd black out. Now 90hz is permanently black.
Works perfectly on my Gigabyte RTX 3080 Gaming OC with the latest drivers and DP cable. Haven’t been able to get anything but black screen before so I’m really happy to see 90 Hz working.
@PimaxQuorra So this new firmware is not meant to work at all on a 1080ti in 75hz mode? I was interested in it because of the noted improved clarity during rotational movements.
If that is the case then I do hope that you are also working on a firmware that will work on lesser cards and still give the improvements listed (other than the 90hz mode of course).
The DisplayPort implementation on a 1080Ti does not support the required minimum DisplayPort version for 90Hz operation. This is a bandwidth limitation of the 1080, not the firmware.
Your 1080Ti should support 75Hz, iirc.
i9-9900K
ASUS TUF RTX3090 (Resizable BAR enabled)
Pitool:1.0.1.271 @90Hz, LargeFOV
GeForce Driver:471.41
Totally works fine. Unbelievable stable.
Finally, I can use ReBAR without Driver reinstalling.
Pimax you guys did it!
Huge thanks.
The 90hz Feature is only on 20 and 30 serues Nvidia Gpus and has been reported working on And 6000 series GPUs.
There are improvements for other gpus. I haven’t tested as of yet.
Just to be clear you mean just the 90hz mode? This firmware should work with other cards with improvements to rotation and clarity?
After 30min of use in DCS, no issues at time. Tested on 2 different DP Ports.
Works well and looks good, also with additional Lindy Repeater and 3m cable.
Titan RTX , Nvidia 471.11, Win10
THANK YOU Pimax!
