Excellent news! Please test both SteamVR and Oculus games on it if you can. Looking forward to seeing performance in the more recent games. @mixedrealityTV Just curious, is this headset one of the first production headsets? I think they mentioned something like 20 or so of the first sets produced going to reviewers.

No they said from the first batch they yielded only 20 units that survived all tests. Then when we asked if they were going to backers they were silent. Which means they are trying not to awaken sleeping dogs, which means they weren’t going to backers but to youtubers probably.

But yeah maybe shouldn’t have hyped the 20 units as there are many hoping on being a winner in that lottery.

I’m just curious if the headset Seb received was a final production headset, or some kind of early tester type headset (similar to the headsets seen at CES and the road shows). Bascially, will this be the exact headset that we as backers or the preorders will be receive?

. I know they mentioned headsets were practically 99% finalized at CES, save for the caps of the headphone speakers needing to be adjusted slightly in size.
Not as often as him.
Is this the Final build or just another prototype that could change?
From what I recall, the Headset is final and the MAS is almost final. I think Sweviver said that the round part of the MAS that attaches to the actual headset is going to be changed to metal rather than plastic as they found they were prone to breaking - the one here looks plastic still, although it might be just the angle of the picture.
I guess its also impossible to tell if the actual audio component is the final one because that’s another component that they said several times was not the final one.
For the reviews, these things probably make little difference however, unless the plastic snaps and the whole thing falls on the floor…
