@deletedpimaxrep1 thank you, I can assume you don’t know the answer to the 2 questions? But Good to know you are around and answering. I’ll be waiting for @bacon and @Matthew.Xu then.
Thanks again.

Is the pimax 5k shot shown here the oled or clpl version?-----CLPL, At the same time we are planing a buisiness version for 2B customer.
Why does it look like the 4K has better resolution than the 5K, is this correct?---- IT is because the wider FOV, the samller PPD
It seems like the 5K’s SDE is not too bad in the picture, not very different than the 4k or 8k, can we expect this level of SDE on the final product?----Yes
Ok got it! Thank you!
IIRC the 4k is not 90hz ( dont know if it is 60 or 75 )
I believe the 4k is 60Hz.
But does that mean that driving 5k is easier than the 4k for the gpu? I.e. 5k require less gpu power?
If people don’t get nauseous with the 4k at 60Hz, can we assume that people won’t get nauseous with the 5k, because 5k will have higher Hz?
@Matthew.Xu @bacon can you confirm please?
Resolution is not the only factor for a GPU.
4k at 60FPS is easier than 5k at 90FPS
Yes, That’s true, but say frame rate is the same, would driving 5k be easier than driving 4k?
When can we expect to see images of the 8K X in this comparison?
@PimaxVR, @Matthew.Xu @bacon
It is easier to drive the pimax 4k because the input resolution is selectable between 1080p and 1440p, while the 5K’s input resolution is 2x1440p
Thank you again @evertec. Btw, is the screen for the 4k, and 5k the same (clpl?)? I read that the 4k has a ghosting problem. Will the 5k have it too?
I read that the ghosting problem has been fixed for the 5K, 8K, and 8KX by the new LCD panels. These have a much faster response, hence the 90 Hz refresh limit, instead of the 4K’s 60 Hz limit.
The 4k doesn’t use the clpl panels. That would be a nice update to have though, for them to update the 4K to the clpl panels and add lighthouse tracking. Would be a nice option to have the pixel density of the 8k albeit at the reduced fov.
Yes the 4k is 60hz i like many here are 4k owners
After watching linus tech tips’ review, I am getting worried about the ghosting now… How bad was the ghosting for the 4k? Does it make you nauseous @heliosurge?
@Yulius Linus’ review was of the V2 prototype. He uploaded his review late. The V3 has been improved across the board.
I see… so V2 wasn’t using clpl display? Or does the display type not play a part in removing ghosting?
It was using the clpl but he only noted ghosting on space pirate trainer, and it could have also been related to a lower framerate or just because he was specifically looking for it in a worst case scenario. I’m pretty sure it will ghost some, even the oculus rift with oled ghosts some, but the question is will it be noticeable in most situations. I didn’t notice ghosting in any of the games I tried with it, theBlu, elite dangerous, project cars, eleven table tennis and onward.
It is using the CLPL display, but Linus was complaining about smear because of the V2’s lenses, mot because of the display.
The V2 was running at 75hz. Linus said that the display was better than he expected, but he (as is usual for Linus) ripped Pimax for comparing their display to OLED, so he was poo pooing about it.
As @VRGIMP27 said its an older review. Though curious as @swediver & vrkommando i believe said the opposite about ghosting as did Tom’s Hardware & others.
Myself as an owner of a 4k; didn’t notice any ghosting on the v2.
He also said he felt a bit vr sick in the video, while the french reviewer (who is vr sick sensitive) said the opposite. & as @Evol said linus said the v2 ipd is working.
As we know at Immersed in toronto they were already using vive wands & didn’t need to go out & buy a set as he described.
I watched the video, but did not notice any remark about the ghosting. Only about “motion tracking responsiveness” in Space Pirate Trainer. This I did not interpret as ghosting, but reprojection/tracking issue.
Where did you hear the problems with ghosting?
