VR improvements within Win10 OS has been on the cards for a while now. some of the publicly released steps were released in last Octobers update (fall update) which allowed new features for WMR and HoloLens. Further steps are still in the pipeline and a major patch should be released in April (as you have mentioned above in your link).
The future is defiantly improving for VR as a whole.
