Will gtx 1070 laptop with i7 and 8gb ram work for all games? Or just games like fruit nina?

Actually there is an idea. Google your laptop model with vr review.

But think like my r9 390 you should be able to at least do med settings with the 5k/8k.

On the 4k even was able to increase Render by 1.35 to 1.5. The 4k is 1440p upscaled to 4k (1 4k panel at 60)

**EDIT the 4k model above settings on old setup fx6300(stock)16gig(1866mhz) Ram with 2x7950 cf . Win10 Home. SteamVR test 3.5 average

On i5 6500 (stock) 16gig (2400mhz)Ram with Gigabyte Gaming G1 r9 390 8G (Win10 Pro) Render between 1.5 & 2.25. SteamVR test 7.4 Avg.

I am starting to think you may be right

My laptop works really well with the htc vive. But pimax 5k and 8k has 4 times the pixel of htc vive. Does that mean I should try 4.0 supersampling?

Edit: I think my laptop did well for steam vr test. Maybe should try it later to confirm

Try upping the SS til resolution looks to be 4k ish(3840*2160) might give an idea.

With the r9 390 have had rendering resolution between 5 & 6k with good results on 4k model.

Edited my earlier post on details. 2 different systems for reference on 4k model.

If only pimax officials are as sincere as you @heliosurge, I will have much more confidence in them
I’ll try that later. Thanks

Guess I am keeping the pledge. I played space pirate with htc vive at 44-45fps (4.0 supersampling) and it was not too bad. Some stuttering. A little nauseous but with the adrenaline, it kind of made the nauseous feeling not too bad. I broke my own record while trying it.

Google earth was a little more nauseous, as it has less adrenaine.

Warning though, it is not for the easily nauseous type of people. But that feeling gets better the more you get used to VR (at low framerate??).

I can’t say for sure but there is an article that suggests one of the causes for nausea is low resolution. So a balance between res & refresh. Now as always morevof each better.

Resolution is good, it is afterall 4.0 supersampling. It is the fps thats causing the nausea. For slow games though, not recommended. But not sure whether we can get used to it after a while. I heard it is possible

Btw, the 1070 videos don’t show anything unless they show the fps. From the distance it is shot, you won’t know even if the fps is at 50fps. You have to be in VR to feel nauseous, not VR shot through a 2D camera

I don’t think my 1070 will play most games with decent results , my vive struggles already , though the refresh issue is overblown as higher res reduces sickness, I think you will need a 1080 minimum for these 210 FOV headsets ,
