I have searched the internet for days and cannot find a single cable for my 5K+. It’s out of stock everywhere and Pimax is out of stock themselves. On contacting them they say the 5K+ is EOL.
So I just throw my perfectly functioning headset in the bin because the cable is busted? That’s ridiculous.
Is there a way of enough of us asking them to stock more cables for us to buy or does anyone know where I can buy one. Just to be clear I am not paying hundreds of pounds for one either.
Is there a way of repairing or making a new cable? Is there any info on the pinouts around?
It uses the same cable as the Crystal Light, so it’s just out of stock temporarily but it definitely will be back in stock. You can also just check on ebay or 3rd party retailers.
Thanks. I didn’t know the Crystal light used the same cable. I wonder why the Pimax live chat person would deceive me.
I also found that Amazon listing but it didn’t look like it was in stock and the reviews were bad. I realise now that was the other person who was selling it.
£109 ouch. They sell it for £55 on their site.
Also their site lists the cable for the 5K+ as out of stock and the Crystal Light as in stock. That is odd and why didn’t the live chat person just tell me I could order that?
I doubt it was malicious deception and just unfortunately someone new/misinformed.
And yeah, 109 pounds is steep and not sure why it’s showing up so expensive. I thought the crystal light cable was out of stock on the website but I guess not! Just for reference, the headset you have is one that needs the powered cable right? So it has a power adapter that plugs into the cable itself. If so then it’s the same as the Crystal light so you can just get that yeah.
According to info that we recieved then it’s not the same cable as for the Crystal light. Completely different batch numbers. They sure looks the same but when we ordered the cables for our stock then they told us that they were different. We could have recieved the wrong info but that was what Pimax told us. We do have the 5K+ cable in stock.
Hmm. Odd. So they deliberately make them slightly different to get more money out of people. Or perhaps being higher resolution the Crystal light needs better quality cable, but then they could easily wire it the same way.
Are you selling any cables, if so how much?
Edit I heard back from Pimax live chat and once again they state that the cables are different.
I was wondering, if you had 5k+ and crystal light you could test the cables, as long as it didn’t break the headsets of course.

Yeah that one is correct, so I guess that might be your best option. Povvr.se is a very reliable store also, so worth checking out their store but not sure if Brexit would impact a UK delivery in terms of customs fees etc.
