I just got the survey for one of my accounts (backer # 24)
Survey went out, it doesn’t say what your shipping costs but if you knew what you ordered extra you should be okay.
"Our estimated shipping date for controllers and base stations start from April, whereas headset being shipping in January 2018. Would you prefer to:
Receive the HMD asap, and the controllers and base stations from April
Receive all products at the same time from April"
What the hell? So basically, I might as well get everything in April. But I thought we’re getting everything in Feb…holy crap this is so wrong. If i don’t get the base stations in Feb along with the HMD, what the hell is the point of shipping the HMD to me, i am not able to play it anyway. I am not one of those that have the Vive Lighthouses already.

@reptilexcq I think they are not have ready controllers.
But the station probably should already be working. They probably don’t want to send several different large parcels separately.
I bought a single lighthouse to use in the meantime and am going to try to use my rift/touch controllers in the meantime as well…hopefully this frankensetup works
Well, it doesn’t sound the base stations is ready based on that comment.
If their saying the base stations now arn’t available until April that pisses me off big time. I could have just bought a HTC base station
Holy crap now everyone is going to get their panties in a twist. Let them ship it when they are ready and be happy that they are still on track for at least the headset. We are the ones that could not decide if we wanted the sticks or trackpad so that takes time for them develop not to mention that they changed to knuckle controllers because that’s what we wanted give them a freaking break and stop whining about everything. Thank You Pimax for the survey and the choice of how to receive my 8k.

It pisses you off big time that something you Kickstarted is going to be a couple months later than you expected? Then you better stay the hell away from Kickstarter, 2 months late is nothing 
Also, HTC base stations are $135.

This Survey isn’t detailed enough and could cause a lot of mistakes to happen… especially for those that the extra $499 with the 8k X and also those with the discount… Very confusing

Its so if you have a Vive already you can use the headset right away with its base stations. I thought that was obvious. They will send individual parts as they get done rather then make everyone wait for everything to be completed. If you really can’t wait you can get a base station off amazon https://www.amazon.com/HTC-Vive-Base-Station-pc/dp/B01M01B92P. Keep in mind that the Vive Base Stations wont sync with the Pimax ones since they are a newer version.
Yes because they clearly stated February and now its two months on top of that. I will have to buy the overpriced HTC base station as well. Waste of money
I am pretty sure the expected delivery date for your free gift you got for backing the kickstarter is not set in stone 
And does this not mean that the date is floating and does not mean accurate delivery?
Still a very big question, do they make the hmd until January and start sending them in time. In your place I would wait to start sending it’s helmet, and then decided what to do
I still don’t know whether to vote for thumbsticks or touchpad. I think its a vote at this point, considering the question they ask in the survey is “Which style of the controllers do you prefer?”
I wanted to let all you VR veterans decide but this seems to be something that people are very divided on. The biggest deciding factor at this point is how many buttons we’ll end up with from either.

There are couple issues with survey, not sure if they are minor or not.
- If you order a HMD only package you still receive a question regarding controllers (got an answer on kickstarter page, not an issue)
- (its 2, check this out in edit mode) 8kX full package has no such option at all, so i had to ask to separate packages somewhere else… (got an answer on kickstarter page, not an issue)

But like I said, if you are “pissed off big time” about such a minor delay of a couple months, then you should stay far, far away from Kickstarter. Being a bit disappointed, sure, but really pissed off big time? Remember, Kickstarter is not a store, you didn’t buy a product; you pledged to support the company when they needed financial help getting manufacturing set up, and in return they are giving you a reward package, that in this case happens to be their product.
A product still in development; they just showed off a prototype base station working for the very first time last week. Apparently in the process they discovered some flaw that will delay shipments of the final device. And we know for a fact that the new prototype controllers haven’t even been made yet. I’m happy they aren’t rushing unfinished prototype hardware just to make some estimated time schedules (they estimated February, and they did so back in September; they know a lot more now so can be more accurate)
