When is PiTool needed to be started?

Started Dirt Rally yesterday and played for one our. After finishing i noticed that i havent started pitool before - only Steam and Steam VR.

So my question: Do i need Pitool only if i change for example the FOV or the refresh rate or switch parallel projection on or off, aso?

Exactly. It doesn’t need to be running to play (there’s a background service that needs to run though but that is started at boot).

Check Windows Tray. Pitool aa @DrWilken said is more of an interface for the services.
