When I see the STAR WARS : Squadrons, I am not sure that the pimax sword will support the flight mod device in last design

I try to find some device for valve index controller and found this.

But when I though of pimax sword, I am not sure that it will be compatible with this device because the big ring.

Not only flight sim device , still there are a lot of gun.
So please thought about that support.

this game won’t support motion controllers of any type.

okay, may be for another game.

I have these and use them with the Index controllers for VTOL VR.

I spoke to the company months ago about Pimax support (when I had them on order), and the intention was to support Pimax when the controllers are released.

Hopefully any design obstacles can be overcome. I initially had the same question about the Index controller design, and this was also solved.

Although it sounds like VR controllers aren’t supported in Squadrons, it may be possible by emulating a gamepad.

If you’re considering purchasing a controller add-on, why not consider an entry-level HOTAS? I bought the Thrustmaster HOTAS X (http://www.thrustmaster.com/products/tflight-hotas-x) for E:D and it’s perfectly serviceable. Only cost $50 too!

whats the best hotas money can buy ?

Thinking about it, but no mans’ sky need to use the ship mode and game mode.

recomending virpil VIRPIL EU - Shop
I have throttle , base and 2 grips from them. This stuff is expensive but will serve you for long years

BTW . They have great commercial with well know hmd

Also, it’s worth noting you’ll need some practice time with your HOTAS, because you’ll need to know it by touch (no eyeballs on your stick).

I can’t offer any further recommendation, since I’m perfectly content with my HOTAS X. It was definitely worth the purchase, though.

Hotas X is good, was my first hotas and bought it when ED came out. Did have some standalone sticks years before. Dusted off the last one, Saitek Cyborg Evo but found the throttle slider was super twitchy, so it had to go.

Later I found out the hard way that on the X it was easy to break the buttons by smacking them too hard though, it’s a cheap plastic ring underneath each one. Got a bit tired of the throttle action as well.

Eventually upgraded to the T16000.m after I got to test on ED, and both the stick gimbal and throttle control is a lot better once you compare the two. Been using that for 2.5 years until the Z axis twist got super twitchy, deadzone adjustment didn’t help and didn’t really like the look of the self-service route. My DIY skills mean I’d probably just break it further. The TWCS throttle has a slight twitch in the rudder paddle but generally still good. The stick design and button placement is not as good as the X, IMO, but I got used to it.

So, a few days ago, my new stick arrived, a VKB Gladiator K. I’m very new to both VKB and Virpil. Lucky timing I think, because the K is a new combo of components with a good discount, given they are both pretty expensive niche brands. It’s like a mini TM Warthog, and appealed because it’s a compact desktop-friendly unit, while the Virpils are significantly bigger and cost more. Undoubtedly excellent though.

Super high quality internals + built to be serviceable is the way to go, no more TMs or Logitech’s etc. The big brands seem to average about two years and the companies then expect you to bin and replace. Seems wasteful.

After a few days of SC, DCS, and getting back into some ED just now, the difference has exceeded my expectations. The feel and control is once again a league above the T16k, and I am taking down targets significantly faster in the space sims than before, which I hadn’t expected.

I’m not on the ED forums much any more but someone else bought one as a second stick for use with his Virpil, so I put some detailed thoughts up on there:

T16000 is the best cheap stick, the hotasX is cheap and junk, for competitive play you will get beasted by anyone with a decent stick. The t16000 has hall effect sensors that are much more accurate than those in the hotasX (and its the only sub $100 stick to use them)

If you want the absolute best then look up virpil.

I have T16000m…it’s actually pretty good

I use a Virpil T-50 Mongoose with the T-50 base and a Thrustmaster Warthog throttle, Virpil flight sticks are a cut above and worth the extra cost. I mostly use VR for cockpit sims and am looking forward to Star Wars Squadrons with native VR and HOTAS support confirmed on launch.

I have a Logitech G X52 HOTAS. I like it a lot, but there are better (and more expensive) options.

If your main use will be ED, this is a good choice for VR, since the controls match the in-game visuals, so it will feel less jarring than some other HOTASes. This model is known to have some reliability issues, but I’ve had mine over a year (of heavy use) and haven’t had a problem.

I very much enjoy my x-65f hotas and will be very sad when it some day will need replacement.

Eve Valkyries binary thrust play was a big downer when you have an awesome throttle so I hope squadrons wont be doing that just to make controllers and hotas play the same.

So we have VR and hotas supported by devs, but some of us need also motion and telemetry api for our devices  So guys please “bump up” topic at EA forum : https://answers.ea.com/t5/General-Discussion/Telemetry-API-for-Motion-Sim-Rigs/m-p/9229605#M152
