- Pimax said production line kickoff on May 7th
- Delayed the weekly update to Saturday
- Now full production pilot is on May 24th
- They don’t explain what they will be doing for the next 15 days.
- No date set for Pimax Now event. It’s probably not happening this month or at all.
I wish Pimax was just honest that they’ve delayed production and explain the reasons why, rather than manipulating words in the english language to make it sound like they are making progress. I don’t even believe Pimax will stick to May 24th. They’ll push it back every single time.
I’m going to have to seriously consider cancelling my 8KX pre-order. Or I might buy an 8K Plus because I damn well know the X is going to take months before it gets shipped.

There is no tone on the internet so i assumed you were being serious, which is why i pointed out i thought you were being serious and i said there was no way they would ship anything to backers and then you pointed out there is no way they would ship anything to backers and you were being sarcastic.

Valve is constantly out of LHs. If they had any in stock I wouldn’t need to keep wasting my time coming here looking for an update! I’m not paying 3rd party prices for something I paid for 2 1/2 years ago. I want to sell my Vive as a complete kit but can’t while I’m using one of the LHs.

You might actually be better off splitting up your sale of the kit. You should make more money selling each part separately. Thats how i usually do it with old tech stuff.

The numbers are much, much higher than that. Syncing up the production allowed a lot more parts to be built.
The whole thing also has to be slotted into the general production queue. The other headsets are far more popular than ever so we’ve also been working on increasing overall capacity. The MAS now has it’s own line. The sword will also get it’s own line once that commences.

Ridiculous. At this point I don’t see the headset shipping until mid July at the earliest at which I will already be on my next deployment and won’t be back until 2021. Why did I even pre-order?

Thank you for the update. I’m pleased the testing went well and full production will start soon. I appreciate the constant improvements that are being made to the final design. Personally I don’t mind waiting if the end result is a much better HMD. I plan to keep my 8kx for a long time and I want it to be the best it can be.

But the other headsets are never available - and no it’s not that they keep selling out - they are just never available. That is except through Aliexpress where there is a heap of uncertainty as to whether you will ever get your headset.
