VR seated position anchor center to base station position for simracing?

This NVM software came up in my searching.

Object Tracking: HTC Vive (xsens.com)

Do you still need to re-center your headset each time while using MC? Or does that get fixed in the MC software?

Sorry for going offtopic here.

I just ordered the Pimax 8KX for playing iRacing, coming from the Quest 2.

Now I am starting to become confused. When I read the Pimax FAQ, it states i dont need controllers or base station when playing stationary sim racing games.

When reading this post it seems like i will need a whole bunch of stuff.

Can someone help me and clarify what I will need to play iRacing, once my Pimax 8KX get’s delivered?

For racing, an LH base is recommended (preferring the old LH 1.0) so that you get 6DOF. Without you only have basic movement (left/right/up/down rotation) on the head. You don’t need a controller.

Preferring LH 1.0 vs 2.0 because it does enough for the price? Or is there another reason?

So for me to understand.

My Quest 2 is capable of tracking my position without any base station for 300 USD, and my Pimax 8KX requires additional hardware?

Anyway, so the LH1.0 is preferred because of price? and 1 is enough?

LH 1 has two separate axes in the base, so the tracking is more stable

@PnCcC one is enough, and LH1 not only because of the price. The only advantage of LH2 is that much larger rooms can be used for Roomsscale. Principly, one LH1.0 base incorporates the technology of 2 LH2.0 bases for a lower price.

I can get a version 2.0 for a good price, that should be enough right?

Thanks

Im halfway to where I want to be. Only missing thing is locking reset HMD to direction of green line. otherwise I can calibrate near perfect with this.

ive had more success with 1.0 base stations than 2.0

You don’t need a LH unless you want to lean forward, back left & right. The Quest 2 uses cameras mounted to the hmd.

You have 3dof You can rotate your head. In a Sim it might mean looking over your shoulder you may see the headrest.

Alright I am getting it, thanks for the advice.

What is that stand you are using for the base station?
