Visual sharpness test for VR sets

This is very useful as it gives relative resolution sharpness for each VR model.
Can we have a reading for the 8K?

IMHO, this is a subjective test and only works if one person honestly compares all headsets. I think the values can differ vastly from person to person…

Tried to link direct but couldn’t from iPhone. As long as the same person does the testing then it’s good, no?

To upgrade this test, the text should be different for every lines because when the brain knows the words, half of the reading/comprehension is already done :upside_down_face:

This is a good one to test @SweViver

This would not matter either. Once you see the text (even if they are different) you would always see it there.

The similar tool/app can be designed for measuring FOV. Just project a sphere marked with the longitudes and latitudes around the user.

For sure it would be completely subjective test as everyone has different eyes, different notion of what he already can see and what not, etc. But for comparing two headsets by the same person, these tests are pretty simple and quite explanatory.

Interesting.

Without SS i can read the phrase at 8 meters
With SS at 200% i can read up to 11 meters.

With the Odyssey, anything above 200% of SS is a waste.

Also, can someone with the Vive and the Rift test this too ?

Always with 100% resolution and then with 200%.
