Several users reported virus in the last PiPlay.
Can we have some official information about the situation? Are we infected?
i’m curious… which users reported this? I have not seen any mention of it. can you give me some links and what virus they said they had?
Eno
never mind i found it.
i will download the latest ver from mega and submit to sophos for daignosis .
should have an answer in a day or so
Hi, We have tested it, but did not find virus yet. Have you also encountered this issue?
Yep, windows defender with win10 catch one.
Yes, same thing here, “Ramnit.j”.
Same here Trojan:Win32/Ramnit.A defender won"t let me disable or allow.
Hi Support,
Sophos came back to me and said that the installation package contained Ramnit variants. I would highly suggest that you remove the infected download package. repackage the installation and then ensure that you are clean of malware before reuploading the installation.
Can you also please check older installation medias as well, just in case the malware was on the host machine you compiled the installation media.
thanks
Eno
Hi Eno, thanks for your concern. I have already removed that link of PiPlay 1.2.98_beta that may be infected, and we will pay more attention to this issue in the future.
By the way, today we will release PiPlay 2.0 version for you guys.
good to hear! thanks… please post the change log when it gets uploaded and specifically differences between 1.2.95_beta (non nolo version) and the 2.0 version. much appreciated.
Eno
I do not know if it was so good for me. I installed with the antivirus turned off, as dev has suggested, and this may have put all the contents of my PC at risk.
