Very large blur with slow rotation of the head

hello) I recently bought your virtual reality helmet, a problem in a large ghosting. This is normal? I turn my head slowly, the image has very large haloes. With the image on the screen of the monitor everything is fine, it does not double. I made this picture in Photoshop to show what I see in the helmet. I see such a picture with my own eyes when I slowly turn my head. Sometimes I see even 2-4 halos when turning my head. When the game is dark background it is not so noticeable, but when it is light then from each object the haloes depart and everything is double or worse
I tried different versions of drivers, tried to change the brightness. nothing helps. It is impossible to play with such an image in the helmet.

please help me

Yes, ghosting is an issue. Last piplay version should provide better performance for graphic cards like 970gtx.
to decrease ghosting try:

  1. disable interleaved reprojection in steamvr settings.
    if doesnt helps
  2. try to use full hd resolution in piplay (not 2k resolution).

p.s. what game/software is shown on screenshot?

disable interleaved reprojection in steamvr settings - I tried this, at the expense of changing permissions thanks. I have ghosts in any game

No one is talking about removing ghosting. All vr headsets have ghosting, more or less. The only thing you can do is to find a good spot where it doesnt ghost too much.

I tried htc vive, there I did not notice it. I understand that he may be, but did not think that so much

As i know last piplay version 1.2.57 should have less ghosting then previous versions.
As i mentioned before, make sure to:

  • set resolution to full hd (for the test period)

If it feels really really bad, uninstall the version and try version 1.1.92 (need to find a link for it)
1.1.92 will have some issues while detecting headset and has compatibility issues with oculus games and oculus home software, which needs to be removed before your downgrade the version. This version has a way more different render that provides a better picture quality. Im pretty sure it will have same ghosting amount or even more, but its still worth a try.

With a 1.1.92 version find your services (windows services in task manager), piservicelauncher need to be stoped and restarted if you will ensure any issues with connecting device (no need to unplug device). Once its detected and resolution set start steamvr

  • in steam settings enable asynchronous reprojection

  • try with full hd for the test period (need to be sure its full hd, because in 1.1.92 there is a checkbox for 2k resolution while in later version there is a checkbox for full hd)

download link for piplay version 1.1.92

Thank you very much friend! I’ll try to try all the options

@nemphis Hi, how is it going

all the same…( Ghosting Remains

@nemphis, @PIMAX-Support. Sorry I am a bit late to the party. I’ve started using opentrack and a trackhat IR tracking clip. I asked Pimax-Support to have a look at integrating opentrack\TrackIR support so that external tracking could be exposed to games via the SteamVR API similar to how it is done with Riftcat and Pimax-Support said they would have a chat with their engineers to see if this can be done.
Currently I play only Assetto Corsa in VR which allows for tracking from SteamVR and\or OpenTrack (luckily) at the same time. Note that Project Cars and Elite Dangerous does not take 3rd party tracking when run in VR mode from outside of the SteamVR API or if it does, I don’t know how to get it to work. So, this solution is very much game dependent. What I have found with my setup though is that the tracking using OpenTrack is much faster than the built in Gyroscope and as a result, the ghosting\blur effect is much less pronounced (I almost cannot see it). But that being said, it is still very much there and the issue persists, the tracking just hides it somewhat because of the tracking speed. So, depending on the games you play, it could be a gamble but in my case doing exclusive VR in Assetto Corsa, it paid off. The down side is that it adds more complexity and it does not integrate into SteamVR, but I am holding thumbs that Pimax-Support and their engineers can at least add this into their driver\software and give us more options to explore.

P.S: IR tracking also removed the problem I experienced around yaw drift and I now have 6DOF tracking within the limitations of the PS3EYE camera.

I got a similar setup with a ps3 eye camera and a home made tracking led clip
I am really looking forward for pimax to support it as an input, it would make playing ELITE much better
