Twack3rs Varjo VR-3 impressions

Can somebody who has the varjo vr3 tell me how the performance is compared to the pimax 8kx please?

Im curious guys!

I Love my 8kX even with hellish annoying eyestrain i just cant get rid of but the main thing is the fresnel and spotting things in DCS. (Id still use it for racing)

Im XO in a virtual viper squadron and what i currently need from a HMD is a lens that give give me a full clear view across the entire FOV or at least 80% Keeping track of things is an issue but spotting is a resolution issue in DCS that we really cant solve without labels at the moment. Its up to them but i dont see them doing anything as its been years. Anyways…

Anyone using it purely for DCS? I’d like to hear your opinion on that.

Cheers!

Oh I see Im starting to be censored…but its ok for that guy to call me a pissant right?

Well it looks like this whole site is owned by pimax is that correct?
One thing I cannot stand is corporate yes men, lackies, unexceptionalism, cronism, etc, etc.

If so then I am out.

Ok guys we gotta cool down a bit, we’re getting a lot of posts flagged

Let me restate things with a bit less vitriol. I dislike it when people post opinions not based on demonstrable evidence. This is what I think @BGAStories does consistently. Further, he-actively insults anyone who disagrees and points out the weaknesses of his disputation. E.G… you must be on crack!
I do not have an opinion on the Varjo 3 yet. I can’t form an opinion without more experience and knowledge of it. I’d like to try one, but I’d really need several weeks of use to dial it in fairly.
I have six months experience and hundreds of hours in the 8KX. My arguments are not directed at the Varjo 3, but rather against the misrepresentations of the 8kx by MRTV, and BGAStories willingness to call a product crap with no actual experience in it- based solely on hearsay and poor quality images in a single article- which was later acknowledged and replaced the images.
I was censored too, and rightfully so. I let my irritation at an offensive series of posts get the better of my judgment.
Apologies to all.

Again, he corrected his error and his last video is pretty accurate, albeit he should have chosen a better photo for that game still shot. But the video of the game is pretty accurate and the still shots of the Schnellen test are exactly how I see things too.

Which others here did too, suggesting the VR3 is just ā€˜hype’ without even having tried the headset

thats interesting one, when ibought vp2 i was pissed by thw fact that dcs doesnt support ipd for vp2 tried it month ago, but its dcs problem back in days O+ amd some other hmds had this problem (eye strain and wrong set ingame ipd offsets). Wonder if its supported in vr3.

It is.

Quite a few use it for DCS.

You have a tool to fix that in DCS

The HP Reverb is an entry level Headset? :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

Warning: Sebastian gushes about everything, at least in the beginning

Don’t forget that alleged victim had already accused @pimax of being on crack.
You didn’t want to close the thread then?
Sure. Classy.

Man I wish I was surprised. When it’s convenient for him he likes to call for more moderation, but at the same time likes a post with gross insults, when even the original poster asked realized he went over the line and apologized.

  1. When did I call the PImax HMD anything other then what has been identified numerous times by many credible sources. I never called it crap, you like to put words into peoples mouths and misrepresent their positions to try and win yours.

  2. You say I lack experience with HMDs, but I have owned and used more than you over the long haul. You yourself claim that you have only owned TWO HMDS, so dont get on my case about lack of experience. I have owned way more than two…and tested way more than two.

  3. Your the one fanboi defending any and everything about pimax, mostly over attacks that are figments of your imagination.

  4. You must be smoking crack is a common lexicon of the global knowledge base. That saying has been around since the mid 80’s and it is used to accentuate the ridiculousness of ones position. You claim to be a retired educator, you should know that.

  5. You lack any experience with the Varjo so you have no idea how it compares directly against the pimax and what flaws the superior nature of that headset reveals about the pimax and other HMDs. We have had a few users here that have used both and they both share similar opinions on the pimax inferiority…which would be expected given that its a $1200 headset and not even in the same league as the VR3.

  6. Nobody in this thread cares to hear about pimax again. Stop talking about that HMD. This is a Varjo MR-3/VR-3 impressions thread.

Well, there goes me ever buying a pimax or recommending one. I usually don’t celebrate when companies go out of business…well unless I plan on buying them up in the courts lol

You don’t own a Pimax? What headset are you currently using?

A g2. I sent back the VP2 three weeks ago…and VR-3 is sitting on my second desk.

I have owned and used the oculus developer kit and their first consumer headset. The first vive headset, the Reverb G1…and then a whole lot of crap from the 90s

I currently cannot use the VR-3 because Varjo customer support keeps dropping the ball activating my license. They have it now where I can claim my subscription, but it asks for product key and they never sent me my product key despite me asking for it many times.

You rather use the G2 over the VR-3?

Off the bat…I would say I am not overly thrilled with the weight and fit of the VR-3 headset…but I need to test it in action. I added the rear counterweights which helped and also have the headband from that NZL company…but I will mess with all that when I finally get the damn headset working
