Tracking problems with 2.0, does anyone know?

What I find strange, these tracking problems have only begun with the Base Station 2.0.

I had no problems with Base Station 1.0.
Maybe it’s coincidence. I can not explain.

If I use the Pimax 5k Plus then Bluetooth is also off.
With 1.0 it was always on with 2.0 OFF!

I do not get it.

I have ordered an index VR glasses from them to test if there are driver issues.

Hopefully, the shipping is fast.

I’ll get back to you later when the new heatset has arrived. I will test it.

best regards

I am not sure, to which “tracking problems” you refer to. If you mean “power management” then it has nothing to do with tracking, and I never saw it working on anything but Vive headsets as it requires BT driver for the headset linkbox BT hardware. So I am surprised it worked for your P5k+.

Doesn’t it work if You leave the Vive link box connected? I think I’ve read that somewhere. I.e. the Bluetooth module is actually in the link box.

Good point. On HTC Vive it is. I just checked on mine, by disconnecting the headset, but leaving the linkbox connected.

You have to watch the video above to understand the problem.

Hi, last weekend I tested the Index controllers and played Beat Saber.
I had some tracking issues as well. But with v1.0 lighthouses. I will have to test some more with the wands (had some issues with them also, seems to be the same “spot”).
I ordered some 2.0 lighthouses and hope they arrive this week.
I will do some tests like you did in your video.

You started with all three lighthouses or added one after you had problems with two?

Awaiting your feedback if you find an error source and/or solution.

I seem to have found the tracking problem.

It was up to Pitool!

I use index controller along with three base station 2.0.

If I have tracking issues, I can not solve them until I restart Pitool.

I can play some time then. But after some time (1-2 hours) these problems come back.

I then have to quit all and restart the headset and Pitool.

There it goes again!

It must be a bug in Pitool.

I found the problem.
It seems like the Base Station 2.0 does NOT do an automatic update when a Pimax is connected.

Only when I have a Vive index connected all Baste Station 2.0 have been updated.

I think the tracking problems are fixed!

Pimax should fix it!

The Base Station 2.0 needs an update, even if you only have a Pimax VR glasses!

@Matthew.Xu

Even if you have some other Bluetooth adapter (to take the place of the disconnected index), as part of your system?

If you don’t, there is no route of communication with the base stations, through which updates could be made – One should still be able to update them by connecting them by USB cable, to the computer.

I think you can not connect the new base station s.PC. I think there is no USB port more ???

Looks like micro-USB to me?

You’re right … I did not see that.

Thank you for the clarification.

When I got the base station, old firmware was on it.

I did not update her.

That will probably have been the problem.

Great, thank you

And if you do, can you actually communicate with v2.0 basestations via that without having Index? I do not have either the Index, or the bases, but I wonder what is the protocol v2.0 bases use (as we know it is different from v1.0 bases).
