Trackers dropping all the time after 5 minutes of being idle

On the newest update pimax appears to be overriding my steam VR settings and turning my trackers off after 5 minutes of sitting idle this basically makes it so I cant play vr games, this needs to be fixed ASAP, huge huge bug I dont think this was in the older versions of pimax play so I’ll sadly have to revert to an old build or not buy pimax headsets in the future.

@PimaxQuorra

Could you please export the log files and send them to me via Google Drive or WeTransfer? Thank you!

Which trackers you’re using?

I use vive 3.0’s you should be able to replicate it, it’s a known problem that does not require the need for logs you simply have to boot up vr and turn your trackers on, i’m on the steam vr beta but I’m sure it will do it on both. Simply go afk or hold your trakers controllers or headset still for 5 minutes even with steam vr set to never shut off, the pimax will force them to shut off. Makes games like VR chat not work. So there is no way I will buy any other pimax headset until this is fixed and as it sits my 8kx is no longer usable and is not shelved. should give my nose time to heal from the damage this headset causes to my face.

any update when this will be fixed? really anoying I cant use any pimax products right now.

make sure “turn on Screen saver” is unchecked.
that is the issue i had with my 5K and 8KX

The headset doesn’t drop or turn off its only the trackers and controllers the headset is currently on my shelf I’ll have to get it and try to get it connected to my computer some time later tonight, that being said I seriously doubt this will fix my issue.

it was what fixed mine.

i was having that issue, where i had to go fix a model in VRchat.
and i booted up unity, not even 2 minutes later everything would turn off on me the moment i am done uploading/or just putting everything back on and getting back into the game.

it annoyed me, then i tried that setting.
and it never happened again.

@KingTodd avoid pimax setting for “Home”=off → that is static picture which will burn in into your displays. I hope it will go away eventually, after several weeks I still see some parts of my static picture while playing…

Did you keep your headset on all the time?
(You could also replace the default image too)

And that should never be an issue.
I had my headset since March 2019 and never had that problem.

I only turn on my headset when I am about to get on and turn it off after I am done.

Either by holding the power button till it’s fully off or unplugging it from the main power source.

I don’t need a unity map taking up extra resources.
I just use steamvr and nothing else.

I set my picture (beautiful actress face, 8k pic - that looks incredible in crystal), and pic was shown usually a few minutes on beginninng and on end of my playing session. Sometimes more if I had short break in between.
Only a few times I forgot about it longer time (1 hour).
But after several months I started to see uneven parts when playing in bright games. Only later I recognised those parts as my home pic…

Btw, I do not turn off my headset, I just turn off pimax client.

that would be the issue then.

You can replace with a complete black image.
the crystal is a type of OLED panel if i remember, i only have a 5k+ and a 8KX.

i am waiting on the 12k headset next.

And i just flat out make sure the headset is off when i am done.
same with my base stations, i use an app to control them.

So, once i am about to play. I load up piclient, then turn on the headset.
followed by the base stations and i am good to go.
Get on Vrchat(full body) or whatever game i am going to play.

Over 12k hours with my 5k+ headset.
the other 5-6k hours where split with other headsets i have(loved my 5K+ more and find myself going back to it more)

the base station controller app has helped with the reliability of getting my headset to turn on, that and a powered usb hub, that being said I still get blue screens from time to time, or just simply have to restart my computer.

I tried turning off the 5 minute timer thing in the pimax settings and I believe that fixed my issue… this seems like a pretty serious bug as its functioning and has nothing to do with turning off the displays its simply dropping all controllers and trackers.
