Just tried to Play Hellblade with my 8k Pitool 0.5 Resolution; large FOV; Steam 100%; Game internal Resolution 160% if I set the Game Resolution any higher it crashes it also won’t boot if I set Pitool to 1.0. I have a 1080 ti at the moment and the Vram is at 100% usage when it crashes, would a Gpu with more Vram solve that Problem? Maybe the Radeon VII?
Try with small or normal fov, pitool 0.75, steam ss auto, game reolution low. Unreal engine games are known to crash with too high settings.
Oh, there might be the trick of manually editing a steam file allowing a higher recommended SS setting, you can find the forum post using the search option.
Edit. There: https://community.openmr.ai/t/so-after-hours-of-tweaking-i-figured-out-the-best-and-easiest-way-of-supersampling-here-s-how/16197?u=trevorvr
That sounds a bit odd but i know myself I run hellblade with the folliwing settings.
Pitool render 1.0 FoV Normal
SteamVR
Video Auto SS (suggests 40%)
Per Ap 100%
HellBlade Med settings & I think in game ss was at 80?
Try that & then increase in game settings.
Hellblade is very demanding and with gen1 vr has a 1080 min.
It’s playable with large fov but I’d like to play it with a little higher resolution and I think that my Vram is limiting me. after trying the Pimax for the past 3 days I will never go back to Vr hdm with a smaller fov. For me fov is more important than resolution to get immersed
I think the only way to get a better quality is to lower the fov which will save some performance and allow you to increase the super sampling and or other settings.
I’m not sure if the game needs Parallel Projection enabled, turning it off will increase performance.
Purchase FpsVR under $10 you will be able to see vram usage.
I checked my Vram usage with MSI Afterburner it was at 100% (11GB) when the game crashes
Indeed try lowering things as the game as said is quite hard in resources. The amd with 16g might work well. But would reccomend waiting for some good benches. There are a couple if users whom mentioned i believe getting the new cards.
I wonder if someone has tried the RTX Titan 24gb with the Pimax that card could solve my Problem
Lower your texture resolution.
You gotta do compromises with the Pimax headset.
You could ask Linustechtips to give it a go.
I second this, your textures are too high… is there a place in game to adjust? Also a good idea to use FPSVR to see what your vid card ram is doing etc…
So you are using monitor tools from AB while in game, heavy games like hellblade dislike this. I wd at least disable all monitor tools of AB while OC and close the AB window, it will still overclock.
How are you using large FOV with PP? Doesn’t that make the game crash or have low res…?
I set Pitool to 0.5 Resolution 72 fps Brainwarp on and the Ingame Resolution to 160% all settings at high or very high except shadow resolution
5k+ or 8k headset?
8k I like that I can finally see barely any screendoor and it is also freaking sharp at Pitool 1.0 Steam 100% but I can*t compare it to the 5k
