The vive focus is 1440p per lens at 75hz

That’s pretty close to the pimax 1440p 80hz. Think pimax could ever do a portable hmd at some point?

That’s interesting. It seems like 90Hz isn’t actually required for adequate VR.

I know you’re joking around but actually this is one of the things I plan on doing with my Pimax. Assuming the picture clarity is better than the Rift and the screendoor effect is minimal, we should have no problems watching 2D content in a Theater environment. I’m aiming to replce my BenQ front prejector with the Pimax. Hope it works!

Funny thing. 4k owners have been saying that 90hz is not required for smooth game play for years all based on its 60hz max, I remember having a rather heated discussion on this exact topic with some Oculus and Vive owners before the Oculus Go came out. They insisted 90 was the min required… Bet their slapping their foreheads right now :slight_smile:
