That large ring is going to be a huge problem if you have to place your hands near your face…it can potentially get in the way where you can potentially hurt yourself with it.
love it and i liked the large ring like oculus touch!
But, we still have no idea about of final design of their Knuckles
Love ‘em!!! Great work, Pimax!
We have de latest patent from Valve.
Good job! I love it.
Too similar to Oculus Touch (and its flaws) for my taste, but I am waiting for Valve’s Knuckles anyways.
You mean like drawing a bow and pulling the right hand towards the face as you draw back the bowstring?
As one who loves Touch, these have me excited.
Grip button, why?
To catch or release an object you should close or open your hand.
To have it compitable with Occulus touch controllers
Just do the same, open or close your hand.
Always a terrible idea to change a physical button into a simulated one.
My hands feel like dogs.
To have it compitable with Occulus touch controllers
They must be compatible to OpenXR, not Oculus controllers.
I think cdaked is right, no need to press a button when the action itself simulates that exact function.
Missclicks galore when you have the finger in a resting postition on a simulated one
Wow these really look amazing.
I am very excited to be able to try these.
Only thing I can ask for is one controller which has a swappable thumbstick and trackpad if it is possible.
This would satisfy all backers and you would not need to make two separate types of controllers, just one kind that has removable thumbstick and trackpad. It would be AMAZING.
Maybe, I assume valve knuckles don’t include a grip button unless next iteration changes that? but the point of knuckles controllers is the grip is done by sensing grip of the controller so I assume some user changeable software option needed to select which mode is used for grip?
I understand that the large ring is important for the inside-out tracking module in the future too.
May I must have both of stick and trackpad for knowing that what is better, this is amazing.
