It works in VR with a standard x360 controller like Skyrim VR with free movement. It’s not 100% functional yet however. (no crosshair or functional hud) Doing any inventory management in VR is impossible. So I do hope they will patch it
For now you can simply walk around in it. But you will have no access to minimap/hud/crosshair/menus etc…
My guess it’s simply the default unreal 4 VR compatibility.
Shooting plasma rifles at Terminators in VR is cool.
Performance on my Pimax 4k is super on low end hardware.
The game is rather boring for the first 2 hours but gets better once you get to the hospital, after the hospital the game gets even better when you finally get a plasma rifle and you can finally engage and destroy t-800’s.
No worries, ok so you right click the Steam game from the Library list, then click Properties, then click Launch Options, then enter -VR?? Sounds easy enough
I have no idea, I just read it somewhere in a patch note for the game that they indeed disabled this. I haven’t tested it. It’s just that they also confirmed that they have no intention of making the game VR compatible. Which is a damn shame.
The default unreal VR mode is borderline unplayable anyways without a VR hud, making aiming properly virtually impossible, it’s just cool to watch and run through some parts of the game with your pimax headset, but that’s about it. Like for example the hospital level where you have to run through evading the terminators since you don’t have the proper weapons to fight them yet.
I just don’t want people to waste their money thinking they can play this on their headset like a proper VR game.
Well on the plus since it has partial vr support a mod down the road should be able to complete it better.
But yes it is ashame indeed with such short sightedness. But not really surprising as many flat gamers are rightly upset with Valve over not making a flat version or mode in the new half life.
