SweViver's X-Plane 11 VR video - Off topic: Heated discussion of desire for more through-the-lens shots

Your quote clearly says that SweViver chose to discontinue the overzoomed pics; he felt was creating confusion.

I fully respect this choice. So what’s the problem?

Let me explain with an example, remembering that it is only an example, and the examples are always exaggerated, so do not use my example against me

If someone asks you for a lift and you decline, I fully respect your decision.

If you refuse because who asks is a xxxxxx, I continue to respect your decision, but I criticise your motivation.

Is that quite clear? I sincerely appreciate Martin, but I didn’t appreciate his motivation. Don’t choose what is right for people to know, knowledge is always right.

Ah but if I asked you for a ride a week ago & you make it clear you were not comfortable giving me one. I would not ask you again later due to respecting your answer & avoid disappointing myself.

Your choice of where to find knowledge is not the responsibility of whom you choose to follow.

I have edited out your offensive word choice with XXes.

So your accusation did not refer to the fact that the investigation of the panel structure is hidden by Sweviver and has to be examined?

Especially if a tester has told not to investigate and you can not understand his decision, it would still be worth trying once again friendly to ask / discuss instead of accusing someone. It’s about the principle and asking instead of blaming and demanding. Especially if you basically value his work.

I hope you understand what I mean.

never think you’ve been clear enough… lesson learned

  • I’ve already chosen the headset and I have no intention of changing my mind.
  • to be honest, I don’t really care what headset they’re sending me
  • for the reasons above, the existence of these pictures cannot be relevant for me
  • and in any case I have the equipment to do it myself when I get my headset

if you have understood that this is the problem, with respect, you have not understood so much, and I have wasted time in writing

Okay I understand you voiced concern of something you now admit does not matter to you or your choices.

Always a curious event.

absolutely not

my accusation is to the reasons for this choice. If he said “I don’t have time to make this”, I would have said “thank you, you’ve done more than enough”.

but the reason was that this would confuse people. And for the record, I completely agree, someone would have been further confused.

But, IMHO, it’s not our right to protect people from themselves by hiding information.

it’s only curious if you don’t understand what I’m talking about.

in the example above, which you edited, would it be curious if I did not agree, even though I am not an xxxxx?

the world turns around people, not around me.

I do understand voicing concern for those whom haven’t for themelves.

The problem with word editted out most find it offensive & would react to it as racial remark.

While it is true this is just Text on a screen; we give life to what is read. A good wordsmith can often find the words to solicit a desired response.

No, what people have received is irrelevant

What Martin thinks of those people is relevant

If Martin thinks that those people don’t deserve exhaustive information because they can’t handle it, I’m disappointed.

No he just said he wasn’t going to provide it. Your disapointment is noted.

Now let’s please return to the Op’s Topic. Please kindly in future create your own topic on issues you wish to present.

Thank you for helping me realize that I have been just as out of whack on this detail.

Being unable to accept a decision and claiming it as a concealment of information is somewhat absurd in this context.

Or does it need a special non-verbose “mmorselli safe” wording if a tester believes macro pictures are not helpful in describing a realistic scenario?

I don’t have any problem with your edit, but it was obvious that in the example I should not agree on something unpleasant, such as a racist motivation

the words are never wrong, the intentions are wrong.

a wise person once said it is better to love a n…, than to hate a colored

You mean me? But don’t you understand because I can’t explain myself, or is it intentional?

The reason people asked for those images was to understand the real structure of the panel, to count the real number of pixels. It had nothing to do with “realistic scenarios”. A simple technical information, like the nanometers of the production process of your CPU

do you have any particular reason to deny the truth?

if he had said that, there would be no disappointment on my part.

But you know what he said, because I’ve written it many times, quoting the exact words, so why create an alternative truth?

My god these threads end up being gatherings for the socially handicapped. @SweViver has done an amazing job sharing and giving his free time to this endeavor. I don’t get this whining for close up/macro pics. We have seen those already produced. So wtf is the shit show here about? You want more macro…kinda like cowbell?

Haha omg this has really escalated

I would say people, including me, disagreed on Pumcys review as his conclusions were questionable, based on his lack of knowledge (and lack of interest learning) since he was not even able to setup his PC to even run any resolution at Large FOV with the 5K+, blaming it on the headset.

He was never forced to make content upon demands. Thats what I am currently being by one or two gentlemen in here  I dont care if people dont believe in my facts (which obviously are opinions btw) but never ever in my life has anyone tried to force me doing anything Im not encouraged to do. Not even my boss at work. Thats not what my Patreon support is based upon either, which seems to be quite misunderstood in this case… i had 2 Patreons in the past, which apparently were devs, that joined and then asked me 3 days later to make a good review of their games lol. I told them to leave.

Its not that you can’t handle it. Its the fact that some ppl cannot handle the information and turn it into something realistic. If I show them a macro image my 900 dollar lens and 1300 dollar camera barely achieved to capture, u start to believe this is what i will see with your eyes.

  • “OMG the 8K looks terrible”.
  • “8K is a disaster”
  • “This is the main reason I don’t invest in VR”
  • “Why does Pimax even release that crap”
Now a whole bunch of people thinks Pimax has worse SDE than OG Vive lol. That was the result of my macro video. Hence the reason i regret I even made it. Its just too easy to misinform people and it hits them harder than u may think. Im not saying people are dumb. Im just saying they are not informed enough. And that creates drama and confusion. We saw that in this forum. And Im not here for the drama.

Please dont turn my words up side down.

And no I dont need to hide anything from you. Or prove you that I’m right or wrong. Thats up to you to decide.

There is no denying truth. He no longer wishes to explore seeking answers he’s not interested in seeking.

You & possibly Seb will reveal these truths you have said is not of concern for you.

Pressing someone to pursue & reveal information there not interested in looking for is inconsiderate.

Now if you please your point has been made & when the time comes you can share every truth folks want down to the :atom_symbol:.

Let’s get back on topic.

Pumcy’s article was based on the standards & requirements of TH. Of which he has no control of. By what he said TH’s scale it would have had a 4 instead of a 3 if the software was performing as pimax prescribed out of the box. If the steamvr target res SS% was working right it would yielded a better result.

He received flack because the article targeted a general audience & he didn’t have free reign to fully test & give results in the article using outside settings.

Your being accused of having full control of your content & not choosing to bow down to viewers audacious requests.

Opposites sides of the same coin. One who gets published by 3rd party follow rules to do so & one whom publishes himself & has the full power to publish what he chooses.

I completely agree, and unfortunately seeing these things lowers ( wrongly ) the consideration I have for humanity. What I believe, however, is that it is not our job to protect people from themselves. You should, IMHO, provide the information you are able to provide, as people interpret it does not concern us.

People aren’t all the same. You see? Despite the fact that I have repeatedly explained this concept, what did those who replied understand? That I was asking you for those pictures and that I was angry because you weren’t giving them to me. That’ fun, because I’m the last one they need.

But I don’t have to hide what I think just because some people just don’t understand. I’m sure there are also many people who understand, as I’m sure there are many people who would have understood the technical meaning of your pictures without being confused. The majority of people, because the confused minority is just noisier.

with unchanged appreciation and respect for what you do.
