Ok, interesting enough, Il2 seems to be working with Hyperthreading enabled in bios. Before, the recent Il2 hotpatch / SteamVR update - not sure which one changed things, for me, disabling Hyperthreading gave smooth VR panning. Now, after a brain fart - when it was studdering / flickering in Il2 - I decided to test 1.0.1.180 with Hyperthreading enabled and so far - smooth VR panning.
SteamVR Home in PiTool 1.0.1.180 above PiTool1 Render is still garbage though - just blank.
This is something that needs to be resolved with Valve. Valve should minimally count all headsets even if in an uncategorized vr headset. It only seems to count headsets that are specifically recognized in itâs stats. Which is inaccurate as it doesnât count all users then using VR.
Valve had a similar issue not counting SteamOS in Linux stats. SteamOS is a Linux Distro; believe it has since been corrected.
Steam VR knows exactly the HMD Connected - look at the steamvr Settings file - I guess the vendor provides the information through the apiâs - but valve is just not counting them in their Surveys - âthatâs allâ i guess they just donât care to update it or have other reasons- what so ever âŚ
Sorry for necro.
Just was asked to do the Valve hardware survey again.
Thatâs what it reported:
VR-Hardware:
VR-Headset: HTC Vive MV (aapvr)
Basisstation oder Sensor: HTC HTC V2-XD/XE (aapvr)
Basisstation oder Sensor: HTC HTC V2-XD/XE (aapvr)
Controller: Valve Knuckles Right (aapvr)
Hadnât connected the Vive since months (where I tried it again after years), have been using the 5k+ ever since (with Index controllers). This wonât lead to very representative statisticsâŚ
I also had steam survey recently. I tuned on Pimax HMD & Pitool and steam actually did recognise the Pimax 5k+ in the survey!
I also noticed that in last few months the âOtherâ category of HMDâs increased rapidly (like 2 % -> 15 % or so), wonder how much of that is due to Pimax.
Also in steamvr it is now showing Pimax HMD icon.
So there is progress. I hope one day it will take separate category for itself instead of being in the âOtherâ with everything else.
