StarVR One - Games Compatibility and Troubleshooting

Asgard Wrath looks very good. When it first Opens up on the Gold Dome, truly feel like the best the StarVR produces visually.

Is there Mura?, depends on the backdrop. on certain room no Mura, while on other you can perceive it but not bothersome. Not sure if there are options to tweak the graphics to gain better frame rate

Yes, Asgards Wrath looks really good in the StarVR and I felt blown away by the world I was in. But yes ocassionally frame drops to 45fps. I’m going to look into improving performance while minimizing graphical loss.

Another Game that looks very good is ā€œthe Morriganā€ I was impressed. Apex Construct looks good, you can see the Mura but overall good

I would also suggest Red Matter. It looks pretty good and even though I’m getting some reprojection to 65fps, it is still fun. I found myself playing it for a quite a bit last night. Ironically, I actually like the graphics of this game better on the StarVR than on my Index. On my Index I could clearly tell the graphics were not up to par to current VR games. But the OLED screen and colors on StarVR made it look better.

I tried Skyrim on the Index, and feels better on the StarVR due to the Oled and the FOV

Is Asgard Wrath 210fov? How to play Oculus games at 210?

It plays automatically with Revive

The games I tried only work on 110. :frowning:

Huh, what do you mean? On the StarVR? It should run on 210 no problem. Did you try it on wide FOV?

I only tried robo recall & lone echo(with revive). At 210fov it was like it was missing PP but it worked perfectly on 110. I’ll try the other games soon.

I watched Sebastian’s latest video. It was very good! Glad to see you’re enjoying several games Sebastian. I hope, like you assumed, that the StarVR One team watches all your StarVR One related vids and hope they read these forums. We need to encourage them to develop a consumer version of this headset, one with better game support and higher resolution panels. At this point I think they will be committing suicide if they don’t announce something soon.

Why are you even bothering with 110 FOV. For that, just use another headset

Not at all, they are part of Acer now. StarVR doesnt need to make money as it will not make or break Acer. The way I see it, I don’t see a consumer version any time soon.

Is anybody selling the star vr one  I want one so bad ;D

I should realy think twice about that if i where u.

I sold my device,i couldnt stand the low resolution…
if you are used to a sharp picture then this will take you out off the immersion(even with this kind field off view) Also for me its was not human vision)

I feel pretty darn immersed in a lot of games on this headset despite the resolution. Half Life Alyx looks pretty good now with the maxRecommendedResolution line and the culling free experience. It feels like I’m actually there. And Skyrim with mods looks fantastic. SuperHot and Racket Nx are an absolute blast on this headset too. Swords of Gurrah works flawlessly with minimal frame loss.

In flight sims like DCS world, VTOL VR, and aircar, I just sit in the cockpit and just am amazed looking around. I’m going to try and improve the framerate on DCS though

dmel can I ask how is the godrays on the StarVR One? Are they barely noticeable or are they rather noticeable?

i did see them clearly when i had the unit…

Yeah I found them about the same as the Index, possibly even slightly worse. Definitely worse than Pimax (which is pretty good in terms of godrays)

My understanding is that DCS is running on an old engine and poorly optimized for VR. StarVR doesnt have the techniques of motion smoothing like the Pimax.

But wishing you to find a solution
