Please Pimax…I need my 8K now…
@deletedpimaxrep1 @Matthew.Xu you guys are just playing with our feelings now… I can’t wait!
Wait… no… take your time and give us a really great product. I can wait.
Somebody has a cutting edge headset and yet records video on a cheap mobile with capture speed lower than the display Hz!
[face palm]
Edit: It’s actually Pimax’s YT chan. [double facepalm]
Agreed. Besides, I’m not sure how a video like this proves anything. How do we even know it wasn’t recorded on a Pimax 4k? I mean what are they actually trying to prove here? Is there anything here that would look different on a 4k? It’s such a horrible quality that I don’t really understand the reason for filming it. I’d rather have them use the time they spent on the video to update us on the situation.
While the video flickers and occasionally goes out of focus, it’s still useful. It shows that there is no pronounced screen-door-effect, that there aren’t weird Fresnel artifacts (circles or god-rays), that the sweet-spot is large, and that the display is reasonably bright.
While this is true most of the videos already show that much. There isn’t anything new to glean over previous vids. The tracking does appear good but the busiest scene puts no demand on the performance.so it’s hard to tell. Extended footage with hordes of Zombies please.
I understand and agree with you (to a point), but I thought this video did a better job of showing fine detail than most of the others I’ve seen. It’s probably taken on the most current headset (given the official source and the posting date, which was yesterday). It’s good to see that the near-production version of the 8K looks as good (or better) than the early prototypes. Given the issues with v5, I find this to be reassuring (and honestly, I was a little worried).
Well I guess you’re right, there is some very basic info indeed. Yet I think everybody already knew there is no pronounced SDE, but people wonder how much SDE there really is, which is impossible to see due to the very low quality of the video. I’m not sure why a company like Pimax can’t shoot better vids.
I think, what Pimax should do when they upload a video, is tell us what is the purpose of such.
And also make sure that we can see the headset (always nice and reinsuring).
Despite that, as @neal_white_iii mentioned "the video is still useful ".
Would love to see it recorded with the right camera and why not, with sound.
Thanks for the video ,keep on the good work and looking forward for my baby to come home
Pimax has continued to show videos that leave questions unanswered.
The “culture” difference seems to blind them to stick to their “old” ways for which they’ve haven’t realized/ignored the ramifications of such actions.
What I would like to see is a view from the newly released Il2 Battle of Kuban by 777/1C.
It is gorgeous enough on my monitor but this WW2 flight sim is meant to be quite something in VR yet it seems not many are paying attention to it. The BoX Series is why I invested in the PImax Kick Starter anyway.
There have been people saying that this title will not work with the 8K due to issues with the IPD and FOV within the sim but if Pimax can get this working out the gate when the 8K HMD’s are shipped, I know many will jump to the retail version of the 8K from the Il2 community.
The Star Wars display looked ok but it seemed a bit, meh content wise. Be interesting to see how they deal with character movement and then story / character development. Hopefully not as lame as the last movie. Myself, I am not into the teleportation movement system. How about a wheeled chair system like Davros has in Dr Who??? ))
Il 2 Kuban on Pimax 8k and 4 dof montion
platform like this one RacingCUBE Release Trailer - 4DOF Racing Simulator - YouTube is my wet dream everyday… Well I still have my gametrix but it’s working only in sound mode.
Problem is “IL2” does not want to ad Telemetry Data Export to there games.
Was asking that for month with few peoples from Simtools and the answer we got is, i quote :
“You already have an answer. No 3rd party has delivered an API to build to. They are not going to export dump which can expose their internal operations.”
Source : Telemetry Data Export - Page 2 - General Discussion - IL-2 Sturmovik Forum
I think its such a shame, they are missing so much.
They claimed that they are very limited on staff and went we offered help they then claimed that it was to avoid people from cheating.
A joystick plugin is available but i tried it on my Rig and its not the same.
Maybe we should all try to login on IL2 website and put a request
I knew this story about telemetry api that is why I only dreaming… maybe one day… BTW there is a way to get telemtry inputs and use it in simtools but this have to be repated after every game update. Elite Dangerous also do not exposing telemetry data but some ppl enjoying already dof montions.
Wow that’s really great! Also loved the Syren through the lens. Can’t wait to get the 8K
Pimax can’t even record a video lol
They really are slow gear thick 95% of the time
