[Solved]Piplay2 worked perfect , Could not update it

hi guys,

I was trying to upgrade my piplay but I simply could not
during the installation my i keep on recieving this error

"
C:program files \pimax \runtime\PiService.exe

an error occurred while trying to rename a file in the destination directory:
MoveFile failed ; code 183.
cannot create a file when that file already exists.
"

I Have tried to delete all of the remaining files that stay behind after unistalling. but
apperently I cant delete de pi service.exe along with many other files and directories.

i tried to get access to administrator even tried to change myself as administrater but no use .

On top of that the light of my pimax 4k turned green instead of blue . had that happening before when the installation of software was incorrect.

How can i delete the remaining files so i can fully reinstall piplay2 and make my pimax 4k useable again .

Hi Chris.

Reboot your system
-launch Taskmanager (Ctrl-Alt-Del)
-kill all pi server processes

Run setup as admin & you should be good

Hi heliosurge.

I deleted pi server.Exe in in taskmanager

Run setup as admin and still did not work. Same error.
Any idea on how i can delete the whole pimax folder so I can reinstall it?

Was able to take owner ship of the folder except PiService.exe and another file.

The PiService.Exe needs to be removed to reinstall i think

FIXED IT !

downloaded a tool that’s called unlocker.
that tool could not remove it but it asked if it should remove it on the next reboot.
so I restarted the computer and file was deleted.
After that I could easily reinstall my pimax software.

Awesome Chris! There are 2 pi servers to kill in taskmanager that needed to be killed.

But you figured a way congrats.
