I know you guys at Pimax have a lot on your plate at the moment but would be good (for both us and Pimax I think) to have a frank update. I placed my order at the end of October so was hoping to receive it soon but completely understand that it will be delayed now but what I would really like is a frank best estimate so I’m not on tenterhooks for the next week, month, year!!

It sounds like you were not a Kickstarter backer. My understanding is that the original backers of the 8KX will get the first 400 headsets, which is only fair since they’ve been waiting a couple of years now. I think that backers of the other headset models are next in line, for pre-ordered upgrades. You placed your order early, so you’ll probably get your 8KX shortly after those headsets ship. In addition, the coronavirus will almost certainly delay things somewhat.
My best estimate is that (since I’m near the end of the second group), I’ll get my 8KX in May. I’ll be ecstatic if it arrives in April. Yours will likely come in May or June.
I sincerely hope that Pimax can exceed my gloomy prediction!

I realise I’m not first (or near first) in line but I was under the impression that once production starts then things would move quite quickly. But clearly with regard to delays we are guessing so I was hoping for a frank update from Pimax on it.

But what do you want them to tell you? They are working at home so there is no production. Same will go for some of their supply chain.
Some seem to think that virus infections will soon or are already getting less. But nobody knows when it is safe for everybody to get back to their offices and factories. So not sure how anybody can say much about it

Yeah, people are dying and the country is in lock down. There is an epidemic evolving in uncertain and unpredictable ways. I’m sure everyone wished they knew exactly how it would play out. Would certainly help the World Health Organisation.
But i’m with most other folk on this. There are more important things atm. I’m sure they will let us know what will happen when they can and know themselves.
