Hi All,
Is it just my system or is everyone experiencing VERRRRRRY slow download speed for within Piplay.
It’s taken 3 daysto download the Hubble Telescope Demo 3D Movie, a 3.21 GByte file.
Normally it would take my pc a few minutes to download a file that size.
I would be interested to get some feedback on this.
Also, has anyone found how to add 3D movies etc, to the Piplay library?
If we could do that then we wouldn’t have to try to download from within Piplay.
PiPlay uses the MaxVR app as the player. You can run it outside of PiPlay. Check the PiPlay install directories. It’s located there somewhere. You can then play your own videos, etc. outside of PiPlay.
I don’t recall. I think extend but it might also work in pimax mode. It’s been a while since I used it. I now use the Steam Simple VR Player which is much better.
My Nvidia control panel doesn’t show two monitors any more but Steam VR still works ok.
Also, can’t seem to run Oculus programs either.
Oculus confiv doesn’t find the pimax any more.
Don’t know why?
Very frustrating. Games that worked this morning no longer work.
I hope there is an update in the software/firmware soon. This is starting to get too difficult.
@LukeB
Have you installed Oculus Home? and your system is Windows 10?
If so, that’s the reason. Since Oculus Home in Win10 eliminate the extend mode.
only direct mode left.
No. And I have uninstalled the oculus runtime as well.
I even tried uninstalling Piplay, but still only one monitor.
Obviously the HDMI port works because Piplay detects the pimax and I can change modes from Direct to extended.
Also, the Pimax logo is no longer visible in the headset.
Extended mode 360 Videos start up on the main monitor but can’t see in pimax unit.
If some Oculus software eliminates extended mode, how can I get it back?
I have tried everything but still cannot see two monitors in nvidia destop setup.
Has something happened to the pimax firmware?
I suspect this is why all extended mode programs (even launched from piplay do not work.
