Shocking Drift and Horizon Level 3 degrees out of alignment

@pimax-support
HI, havnt had any problems with setup or playing iRacing through steam, apart from getting the settings to a playable state to race with which isn’t quite there yet.
The gyro issue I have is shocking though, I cant drive a lap in a race without having to hit a recenter button on a straight to be facing forward again. The horizon wont calibrate at all and sits 3 degrees out to the left. I believe this is most likely the cause of the gyro issue, its actually a hardware alignment issue as the in game drift is never to the right, always to the left. I specifically tried a track that was more turning right that left and same issue, drift never goes to the right at all.
about to try latest beta driver but not holding out any hope at the moment.
very depressing as an intro to VR to have what is being marketed by testers as a great system, to be really this bad to be unplayable in the most basic of games, a car sim.

Hi, thanks for your feedback. Our engineers think this phenomenon may be caused by geomagnetic field.

And we plan to specially make a tool to resolve this tilted issue recently and will let you know once it was released

Thanks for the reply. Here’s a video of just how bad this is on my pimax. I can’t use it. At the moment it’s a $400 paperweight worth nothing.

Yes my setup is facing north, yes I’ve tried every different software version you have. The latest driver released today if far worse than the previous one.
Give us a timeline for fixing this cause at the moment it’s just a sad waste of time.

Hm, same thing happened to me too, but i always thought it was a nolo issue.

I have the same problem. Awful drift

In Piplay 1.1.75 there is no such drift.
In Piplay 1.2.91 - strong drift.
Do you think this geomagnetic field ??

I have the same drift in the last versions
In 1.1.92 this was not.
It’s a shame that 1.1.92 stopped working.
Now it remains only to wait for the version where there will be drift compensation since it’s simply not possible to play.

What do you mean by 1.1.92 stopped working ?
I was going to try it over the weekend to see if it fixes my issue and go to the steam renderer as the pimax one is still crap

Sorry pimax, not intentionally slamming your product, but one does not spend $400 to beta test drivers for a company who can’t get their software right in the first place.
Whole reason I didn’t get a dk2 when they came out is because it was exactly that “A DEV KIT”
The pimax 4K is advertised as a production product.
Fix it so it works.

I meant that I just stopped working, although I used to work without problems.

Pimax use the horrible and cheapest items that do not work properly?
I remember when I had DK1. Never experienced a gyro problem.
And that was many years ago.

Do you have any kind of decision about this?

Yes, we plan to release the calibration tool recently : )

Greetings.
I do not know if that was helped, but I made a compass with a needle, discovered where magnetic north is and then modified the position of my computer, now it faces magnetic North…
Apparently the drift minimized a lot in version 1.2.91.
Thanks!

PS: I do not have NOLO.

I made it even easier. Installed Piplay 1.1.75 and now I do not observe drift.
I do not think that the problem is hardware. This is a software problem)

It would be great if you could make your own virtual glasses))))))))

Ok, took the chance and I’m now running the 1.2.93 beta drivers with the calibration fixes and I now have minimal drift again. Thank you pimax for addressing the issue promptly. I’m having to reset calibration before going into a game each time as per other testers, but this is working with minimal in game drift now and the horizon balance is level. Running my render settings at about 1.8 which seems to be acceptable for quality versus frame rate in iracing on a 1080gtx.
The ipd settings are still a bit odd. Two different colours for the ipd calibration might be a better solution but all in all I can use the product again so, nice job.
