Screenprotector for 8k and 5k+

Hi everyone,

I’d like to protect my 5k+ Lenses from scratches with a Screen protector foil. Therefore I will buy a ‘self to cut’ pack from Amazon, but the problem I will encounter is that the lenses are embedded in the headset and I can only ‘roughly’ estimate the size I have to cut out of the screen protector. But I like it perfect :stuck_out_tongue:

Does anybody has already created a cutout template he’d like to share?
Or how you guys protect your lenses?

My best regards,
HC

Sounds a great idea especially for glasses wearers or letting other people try the pimax

Hi.
As a bespectacled I am also interested. :eyeglasses:
@PimaxVR @Pimax-Support @anon74848233 Maybe you will give some official lens dimensions?

I haven’t applied a protector to my Pimax headset but I did for the SO+. I used a TPU film for a phone screen protector and cut it roughly down to size. It was a little bit stretchy so I wouldn’t expect to get it perfect if you cut-then-apply.

If you REALLY want to get it perfect you can remove the lenses with a suction cup. There is a little bit of glue around the rim of the lenses, so avoid getting that on anything. Then you can apply-then-cut to get your perfect size.

Thx for info.
Will the lenses stick well if the glue is removed?

you dont need to cover the whole big lense but only a small area of it. I use my old foil from the oculus, thats enough

Apparently, the lenses fit snuggly, even without the glue, according to @SweViver.
