Cool.Mine is backorder expected to ship between dec 17th and 23rd
Damn, tempted to order from MS site as well.
I ordered one from Samsung on Sunday. Even though the site said wonât ship until the 25th, I received a shipping notification today. I already have the regular odyssey and a 5K+ pre-ordered but for 299+tax I couldnât pass that up.
Check your tracking though. I got my âshippedâ email, and credit card was charged yesterday, with and estimated delivery of today⌠but according to Fedex, theyâve just gotten the label info from Microsoft, and havenât actually gotten the physical package in Mississauga yet.
Mine is shipping out of Burnaby (to Alberta) and although the package was supposed to be picked up Monday and delivered by 8pm Wednesday, it was only given to FedEx at 2pm Wednesday. I wish I was dealing with Amazon, they would have actually shipped on Monday. I ordered early Sunday morning. I loaded up my Steam library on a new 1TB 860 EVO and Iâm ready to go! The next 2 days are going to drag.
Yes I know my status was âlabel createdâ in stayed in the limbo for a few days but changed to âpicked upâ yesterday night
What did he say about the odyssey +?
sry forgot to link it Die Samsung Odyssey+ - Unboxing, Review und Vergleich! + Importguide! [Virtual Reality] - YouTube
That looks pretty damn good! Man canât wait to try this thing, the hype is real
Just skimmed through most of the review. Panel is (much) better than the Vive Pro he says. The unit presses less on his nose than the old one but light enters around his nose. Microphone and sound are best available. Tracking is still not up to par with the lighthouse system unfortunately, so that seems about the only part where the Vive Pro would be better. FoV is slightly higher, 100 horizontal where Vive Pro was 94, he attributes this though to the foam.
You can use Vive controllers, LOL, didnât know this, but Sweviver explained it here: Tutorial: How to use HTC Vive controllers with Windows Mixed Reality headset in Steam VR - YouTube
I have confirmation that my O+ will arrive on next Monday at my doorstep. Stoked to upgrade from Vive till (whenever) the Pimax comes. Only thing that I may need to sell the vive now (with a couple of exras) and have not the basestation and controllers anymore for the Pimax. I fear that these will take long time like the HMD itself. Hearing that the anti-SDE is more of a slight softness than a blurr and nice input how to safe a couple of bucks getting it to EU sold it to me. Weâll see
NO English subs :(âŚ
May my pimax 5k+ and my friend 's odyssey+ will arrived in next month, waiting to test them soon.
What? I⌠can⌠see⌠SDE! Mrtv screenshots look much better, no sde at all, so i ordered one.
How much zooooom have you applied here? Doubt my eyeball will ever be this close lol
Thatâs a SIGNIFICANT improvement.
I canât remember where I read it, but (IIRC) someone claimed to know that the anti-SDE filter Samsung applied was designed to match exactly between the pixels of the panel. This could account for the fact that there doesnât appear to be much (if any) additional blurring.
Thanks sjef for giving me the idea of canceling my Samsung order and going to the Microsoft store. Instead of having to wait until mid-December, my O+ has already shipped and I should have it this coming Thursday.
Having the O+ should fill the gap that the 5K+ leaves when watching movies, videos, etc. (pun not intended). I wish the 8K would have been the all-in-one headset we were hoping for, but this will have to do.
Was it the same price at microsoft?
Yup. Same price, free shipping.
Haha. I just had the opposite happen. Picked myself up a US address with forward shipping and went out and bought a prepaid credit card, went online and changed the billing address to the US address and thought I was set to go.
Microsoft store still rejected me as it was a credit card issued outside US even though it had US billing address the same as my shipping address. Went to Samsung and they accepted my card with US billing address.
Stoked at this price. And now I donât have to wait as long as Pimax for a new vr toy (very late backer).
