i have these weird screentearing like vertical lines where the distortions at the far left and right start + stutter when moving the head, maybe its the world moving issue some people write about because its looks like the world moves a bit with the headmovement. i thought they went away with either pitool, firmware or steamvr beta but its this software making the issues. i use it for my kraken x52 watercooler
Maybe uninstall the software and look for alternatives.
You could try setting its cpu priority lower, maybe that’d help?
I think theres plenty of software that can monitor and control the fans/pump.
IMHO, the best way to do it is in the BIOS settings.
its for controlling the pump and fans <.<, just wanted to make a post because it looked like a tracking issue or fault and its just the software
I also use CAM but haven’t had any problems with my 5K+ so far. How do you know that CAM is responsible?
Overclocking might be causing an issue as well as another user reported an issue went away after reducing over clock.
because i get those stutters right after starting it and it goes away after closing
@helio only controlling watercooler with it no overclocking, the software does monitoring though. maybe its that
You are right that stuttering usually means a problem with the tracking, either with the actual hardware (i.e. lighthouses, or sensors) or with the communication from the headset to the PC. Since in your case it is clearly depending on whether some other software is running, it is not the hardware failure of the tracking system, but the software/hardware issue on the PC.
Might be contention on the USB bus (if your CAM software uses USB), or simply poorly written driver for the sensor, which starves the whole system (including the USB).
Thats why, with my retarded logic, suggested to give the software less CPU time. Of course the app is bad, all of the chinese apps that comes free with the computer hardware are crap and/or full of bloat. I never even open those CDs.
Maybe try the Taskmanager & change cpu affinity on Piservice or water cooling software. One user reported improved performance by assigning pitool services to last cpu core/thread.

thank you but i dont have the issues anymore, just need to close the cam software.
dont think that it is usb, i have a ryzen cpu and only pimax runs through the cpu’s usb. all other devices are on the mb chipset. in addition to the stutter the cam software adds 2 vertical lines right where the distortions start at both edges. looks a bit like screen tearing
i´ll close it when using pimax now. just wanted to share if others have a similar issue
