I have a cyclical reboot problem with a HMD. This problem then appears then disappears.
Currently, I have almost no problem with this only if I use USB 2.0 instead of USB 3.0 and use version Pitool 109, however when a problem occurs, there are always the following signs with it:
- When I touching the helmet on my head with both hands, the image becomes gray (sensors are lost). With USB 2.0 not have gray screen at all.
- HMD often “not tracked” and have to restart the Piservice service.
- Often the image in the HMD judder when you turn your head (and again i need restart Piservice).
- Before restarting the HMD, the image always freezes for 1 second.
- When HMD is rebooting, the game does not stop and continues to go on.
- After rebooting, sometimes one controller disappears (not tracked).
- After restarting, the sound sometimes disappears.
I have been living with this problem for 2 months already, I don’t have enough time to figure it out now and I’m not sure if the problem is in the helmet.
After installing using USB 2.0, installing Pitool 109 and updating Nvidia drivers, the problem disappeared completely and it seems that the reboot happened only once.
But yesterday I put the Pitool 111 and plugged into USB 3.0 and the helmet began to reboot every 2 seconds. Reconnecting to USB 2.0 has also not solved the problem. I installed the Pitool 109 again and used USB 3.0 and the reboots were less frequent, and when I reconnected to USB 2.0, the reboots disappeared again. After that, I installed the Pitool 111 again and left USB 2.0 and there were no reboots.
I see that this is not an isolated problem and we need to know what it is.
