Hi, can anyone provide me with a link to a thin Face foam pad ? I see some vive ones but im not sure if they will fit. I want to take off the original face foam mask and replace it with another thinner one. I find if i remove the face foam altogether i do not get any overlap.

Woah, tempted… Struggling to decide wether to get the 18mm one or the 16mm one, based on the picture, the latter looks to be tailored for Pimax HMD?
I had also ordered 18mm version, but that one does not cover the nose are and was a bit too thick for my face. It is very affordable so would not hurt to order both version just in case as I did.
Thanks for the suggestions however i need the foam pad to be as thin as possible… As much as i turn the ipd dial in either direction i get the binocular overlap from the physical lenses. its kind of like an oval shape in my central vision. If i remove facemask altogether and place lenses as close as i can to my eyes i do not see that overlap and its near perfect,. So thats why unfortunately i need 6mm or under face mask

Hi I tried a Vive 6mm from vr cover and although not very comfy the picture improved and it reduced Sde for me.

Pimax need to seriously get themselves into shape here. My 5k+ is completely unusable for me the way it shipped. Had I been a purchaser instead of backer and hadn’t spent the last year + on this forum the first thing I would have done is boxed it back up and sent it back.
Now by adding a $5 (one off purchase by me) face foam it’s totally useable. It’s a million times better and although I’m still having my problems I’m now inclined to persevere and see what this hmd can do.
Pimax can get on AliExpress and do a commercial bulk buy and ship those pads much cheaper now. Or could make the ones they promised over a year ago.
Seriously to turn an unusable $1k item into a usable and possibly really good $1k item for a few clicks of a staff members time and a couple of dollars per order… and still that’s too much for pimax to handle. It’s a great case study for commerce students in what not to do.
