Recording/Streaming Pimax still broken, left eye oval only

People say a workaround is to use SteamVR’s mirror window - but it lags slightly compared to the actual game, enough to ruin a video.

I want to know why they haven’t either fixed this or given options on how to render the game mirror rather than the full on left lens only.

This would be something to ask folks like @mixedrealityTV @SweViver @Ludiks @vrgamerdude @TheVRRealm

And other Tubers what they use. Some of it could be as simple as a powerful cpu/gpu setup.

Use the OpenVR plug in for OBS

get the OpenVR plugin for OBS, then add the Plugin as a Source, then right click on OpenVR Capture - go to Properties and crop the image as shown below or play around with the values as you like.

I’m using an i7-8700k, 2080ti, and 32gb ram. I’d hope that’d be enough to stream a VR game!

Though it’s sad the recommended resolutions are to use another 3rd party program to capture when Geforce Experience Shadowplay already does this, and I feel like the issue should be fixed from Pitool.

I do not want to have to edit and crop my own capture - Vive, Index, and the rest record just fine on their own. If this is a result of the wider FOV (even occurs on ‘small’ fov setting on Pimax) then I’m sure a more premium headset down the line will figure out how to properly capture gameplay without the use of a 3rd party program.

Pitool, SteamVR, OBS…that’s all too much. Vive just needed SteamVR and captured fine.

Mirroring really should work. But it shows Steamvr Mirror is not currently made to fully support it. Some games mirror on desktop display and headset.

OBS with OpenVR plugin is the way to go.

I am just trying to figure out how to get rid of the shaking in the recording. Is there something to smooth the movement?

P.S. Weed is not legal and I need my brain to work properly.
