So I spoke with the support@pimax.com and they said they might potentially give a 100 $USD Reimbursement for the purchase of the Pimax 8K if I kept the Pimax BE instead of shipping it back.
Does the 8K have it’s own tracking 360 Roomscale tracking with controllers built-in and does it still use HDMI(I hope it doesn’t)?
I received an email back from support about a potential 100 USD$ Reimbursement for the Pimax 8K for those who keep the BE headset.
I will accept the deal if the it has it’s own 360 Roomscale tracking with controllers and doesn’t use HDMI. As of now I don’t know enough about the headset.
I’m sure other users have concerns about the lenses or the focus adjustments, the Pimax BE worked ok for me in those aspects.
I think it’s a good idea to tell us what we will be getting since a $100 USD discount to for a product we are not interested in is worthless and $100 USD discount for a product we want is a good deal and I’ll keep the BE and give it to a friend if I pick up the 8K.

@deletedpimaxrep1 can I have the price of the 8k when the kickstarter launches. I heard it’s about to launch soon so I might set aside money if I do decide to keep the BE and the $100 USD reimbursement.
If it’s above 800USD before the reimbursement then I’ll probably just go send back the headset.
I wonder if they will still give me the discount coz i already said to support that i’d hold onto the BE…(mostly out of fear that more will go wrong in trying to return it)
I want them to send it to someone who can show off everything the headset can do. Tinker with it but not break it. Livestream him/herself messing it with it 4hrs a day.

Well I am so angry. I ordered the Pimax 4k, got the BE edition. And because Pimax Support can#t handle the problem correctly they offer suck a ****. It isn’t not the customers fault, jesus christ. I want my money back or the real 4k edition, no discussion here. I don’t want to send my Pimax BE back to China ad wait all day. And I won’t buy the Pimax 8k.
They can’t handle it like that.
And telling the Shops that Pimax will handle the problem is another no go. Jesus Christ.
I’m sure most people that got the BE version aren’t happy. Me included. I’ll most likely want to ship it back but I also want every individual here to make an informed decision.
And therein lies the issue, “if” would mean that they are considering it but not guaranteeing it because, well, likely, the Pimax 8K has not even proven itself to be worthy of acquirement.
I presume this shall become more evident next month.
Trying to beat competition to the punch does not always work out too well. Pimax are likely banking on early Pimax 4K/BE early adopters to acquire the 8K even though their 4K could use improvement which has been neglected/ignored in key areas for far too long.
@CMM We have two different project leaders for 4K and 8K product lines. the team is growing with more crews in the 4K project. @generic the next demo will be ready by Aug, we will have a better idea of the costs. @Davobkk a confirmed demo will be at IFA Berlin, 9.1-9.6, we will share more roadshow info as soon as possible.
I am very happy with the BE. I do wish there was a fix for the focus issue, and I more than likely will be doing Luke’s DIY fix. But I will keep mine, and $100 toward a product I am not sure if I want is good compensation for the lens issue.
I am going to speculate they had no idea their 4k product would get as much attention as it did. They need to drive it as they Are first to market, no SDE is a Big Deal. SDE is an immersion killer. I can tollerate a tiny bit, but I know at one time when I was younger and more driven I maybe wouldn’t have tollerated the BE.
I have to agree with this. Pimax claims to be aiming its efforts at the flight simulator community That is a community that is very driven by a group of enthusiasts that are experts in flight simulators. Many of them are part of the Beta testing for FS products, and their input is essential. Having 3rd party insights in the way of knowledgeable enthusiasts from the forum is Strongly suggested before an unforseen overlooked issue becomes a big mistake in the production model.
That’s why I made this thread. It’s impossible to have an informed decision about whether the 100$ USD Discount is worth anything to you as a consumer if you barely know anything about it.
I was actually thinking if it’s a huge pain to send my Pimax to China and have you send another Pimax 4K to me.
How about I send my Pimax BE to you and I get a 350$ USD discount on the Pimax 8K. I have my receipt I paid around 326$ USD for my Pimax 4K which turned out to be a BE. In return I’ll guarantee to pledge to the Kickstarter and I’m even willing to pledge $300 USD in advance and top up the rest later.
That is to say I am willing to Pledge $300 USD in advance and top up the remaining when the Kickstarter officially launches.
Any news on this topic? The kickstarter is nearly here and I have not received any coupon as stated in the email I received. Anyone else heard anything?
