Hi all, having a bit of confusion about what I’m getting and how much I should be pledging.

I pledged for the “First 8k Full l Package Ever” at $799. Kickstarter told me to drop $846 into the pledge since I was in the US which I did.

My understanding is that this definitely includes:
1 8k headset
2 controllers
2 base stations

However, I’m a bit confused when it comes to the stretch goals/other accessories.

I’m interested in the headstrap with ear-phones, wireless module, eye-tracking, and hand tracking, but I don’t know how many of these are included, what they cost, etc.

Can anybody give me the breakdown on this?

As far as I understood:

  • headstrap with ear-phones: included
  • eye-tracking module: included
  • additional face cushion: included
  • cooling fan module: included
  • prescription VR frame: included (without lenses though)
  • hand-tracking: not included, can be ordered by increasing the pledge by $110 though or bought later in the Pimax store
  • wireless module: not included, you get a $100 discount though, should you decide to buy it later in the Pimax store

The hand tracking is concerning me. When did they bump it up to $110? It was only $100.
Could I get clarification on this?

They wrote in the Kickstarter comments section that it’s $100 + $10(*) shipping

(*) for people who just bought the headset it’s shipping costs of full set minus shipping costs of just the headset (so in Germany it’s $52 - $47 = $5). If you already have a full set (like the OP) or want more than one hand tracking module then it’s +$10 per module.
I guess the rationale behind this is that for just-headset-pledgers they will use the “big-box” that usually contains the full set, stuff headset and hand module in and send it for the shipping price of the full set. Otherwise they have to send an extra package (or an even bigger package then the full-set-big-box).
But it’s kinda confusing, probably it would have been better to just say $100+$10 shipping. period.

The only place on the KickStarter that you can find this mentioned is the comments… today is literally the first time I read a single comment there.
And just so you know, I’m backer 201 on the KickStarter…

When was this decided and why is it not shown on the main KickStarter page.

Can I please get some clarification on this. I’m happy to pay the extra $10, but I want to know why this isn’t being mentioned on the main KickStarter page anymore.

I’m sorry for the confusion of you, because our shipping cost is calculated by weight, if we exceed the weight, we need to pay additional shipping costs of $10, so that’s why we asked for a $10 increase in shipping costs. Thank you

Understood, thanks for the clarification. I’ll update my pledge to handle the additional shipping.

Ok I understand, it might be wise to update the Kickstarter page to cover this.
This isn’t the only thread where this is being asked.

As far as I can tell, all of the other options have been properly explained.

Thank you for all of your hard work.
The communication with everyone at Pimax is part of the reason why I am backing the Kickstarter.
I’m looking forward to the continuing success of Pimax.

Ok in there sorry letter I get the following from it. I could be wrong but don’t tell my wife.

Eye tracking - maybe and sometime away
Fan - yes
Face plate - yes
Strap upgrade - yes
Wireless coupon - yes

Now I just finished watching a Spanish video of some guy complaining about they increased the price of the item on the coupon offer he got that then null the coupon. So wireless and eye tracking I’m not holding my breath. But if supplied as face value will be very happy

Is the headstrap with earphones different from the regular headset, or do all the headsets have headstrap with earphones?

Never mind, I see under the stretch goals that the standard headstrap become headstrap with earphones.
