Pimax update (14.10.2020) - Backer Box Shipment Advisory - Discussion

The tracking number should be update real quick, as the logistic team is focusing on this.
Once you receive the tracking number, please wait few days for the status update.

As we are currently having restriction from courier service provider, there are weight restriction for each company. And the logistic team is scheduling the pickup session everyday.

This is a nonsense excuse, when Pimax made the statement that we would be able to put in a cancellation request for $150 it was on Pimax’s false assumption that they would start shipping these out in August, obviously Pimax have completely messed this up, have not shipped the backer boxes as planned or promised and by every reasonable sense of the wording now owe us the $150 they promised.

If you did confirm the shipping address previously, our logistic team is scheduling the backer box for you.
As we have enough stock for the backers, but the problem was the restriction from courier service provider.

As we still delivering other items to our users, the weight restriction is kinda headache.
But there’s pickup session everyday for the backer team, you shall receive the tracking number real soon.

well i had to pay 110€ because a box of 210€… if this will happen to the pimax controllers…

thanks. i had to pay 110€/129 USD. Because bases are from usa and the rest from china i had to pay two fees + vat (23%)

another day and no movement on my fake tracking code, can I have my refund yet please?

I have an update from my ticket - they say

ā€œā€‹No, we really shipped.
Why you cannot wait for several days, just several days for the updating?
I hope you could be patient.
Thank you for your understanding.ā€

So they say it has ALREADY shipped, but it has not, so when Fedex confirm that it has not been collected and was not collected until way way after the 31st October, will Pimax honour their statement to provide $150 refunds? Or will you just rely on the lie that you already shipped when you have not.

Uhm… in my ticket about the promised $150, the excuse (or lie, depends on how one would like to call it) is, that i haven’t confirmed my address LOL LOL LOL, i did that, exactly following your guidelines more than a dozen times., starting months ago, and continuing till the end of oktober.

Don’t start me laughing (crying).

Update: They now found out that indeed i have confirmed my address starting a long time ago, but still refuse the $150. I will take the box and BS because it seems after a long discussion i can’t win this.

Yeah I know it doesnt mean it has been sent but…better than nothing.

Hi there, just got the package this morning. I don’t think I ever got a tracking number, maybe it’s somewhere in my spam folder…

So why the $150 refund is rejected for someone who is 100% legitimate to claim it ?

Mindscan checks all the requirements:

  • no tracking number by Oct 31th
  • Pimax support admits he has confirmed his address

So why this $150 refund is not accepted by Pimax support ?

Whatever you try, the answer is not given. Only that refund, now means: cancelling your stretch goals, which wasn’t as said at the event.
Well, they can have it their way, but this means, that i am absolutely not eager to do bussiness again. I have no reason to believe promises in the future, and i can’t trust words, because they are turned around later.
Especially, because this is not the first time, is it?

I don’t know, to me the way it was phrased was that if you don’t have shipped backer box that you could claim $150 instead of getting the backer box. I’m fine with that as I no longer have any Pimax headsets to use the backer box with, I would actually prefer to have the $150 refund rather than a headstrap I have no use for.

I’ve had a message telling me they will send me the $150 when they recover the backer box from FedEx, though talking to fedex they say no one from Pimax has asked for it back, I hope this isn’t just a ploy to say that them losing the box is in some way my fault to refuse the refund.

Hmm, maybe they were just buying time and haven’t shipped your backer box. Mine should have artived today, as per sms from FedEx, but now track and trace still says it is in Shanghai.

when i go to the tracking number, its not USPS but FedEx - so that’s not correct on the email …

For me, the experience with pimax is the worst.

I’ve purchased the Kickstarter back in 2017
Received the HMD in 2018. That was sent within the EU and had no customs attached to it.

Then all hell broke loose.

I ordered the hand tracking and comfort kit in 2019 - Still haven’t received those.

In 2020 they decided to send the base stations and controllers from Shanghai. I had to pay for the customs of that which amounted about 90$.

Then they sent me the stretch goals. But they didn’t include the hand tracking and comfort kit.
Customs stopped that too! 128€!!! When I asked about it they gave me an ironic: ā€œWe are grateful for being so patient!ā€. They were mocking me!

They also decided to ship the hand tracking and comfort kit… That is still on its way… I have to pay another x€ to get that box through customs… Who knows how much that will be.

I still expect them to ship the eye tracking! OF Course, that will be separate as well, it will also go through customs…

And I have their email from 2017 BEFORE PLEDGING that they will ship everything from within the EU to avoid customs…

I expect to have a total for 300-400€ of total customs fees when I’m done after 3 years of waiting… And an ironic: ā€œthank youā€ from a bunch of Scammers in Pimax…

Don’t buy from them. They are not an international company. They should only sell to china

I take full responsibility for everything I mentioned above and I have the documentation to back everything up. I’m fed up with them. I asked a full refund numerous times and never got the chance to get compensated. They lied to me when I first pledged and sat on the fact that I had paid all that money in advance.

The most infuriating part was that they offered to refund 60$ for the stretch goals that should have been included with the HMD in the first place!!!

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE. These people are amateurs and we need to pay for their inconsistencies.

Ask Fedex for an invoice it looks you were charged an incorrect amount as the Backer Box with no Base stations or Hand Tracking is stated to be valued at $60 :us:. Mine was however had 2 backer boxes plus HT. My total import cost was $59.61 :canada:. So for the EU yours sounds quite high.

If you received your headset in first batch of deliveries as I did there was no customs fees due to the method used. After folks complained about the courier folks have paid ever since. The KS faq said they were going to try to ship from local distribution centers to try and avoid customs issues and originally had a thread here asking folks for ways to reduce customs legally. Since switching to other couriers like Fedex we have been paying import fees ever since.

@PimaxQuorra can look into your separate Comfort kit; it is puzzling that your HT was not in the box though.
