Pimax - steam vr - how to?

I’m using a TitanX …I don’t know about the others

Thanks buddy for your comments on this. I was lucky enough to cancel my order before dispatch and you saved me $350USD. Until these guys produce a model with Display Port which can support true 60hz 4K and some kind of time warp mode to improve framerate Im sticking to my CV1. The resolution is low with the first generation models but at least Its solid technology. I can play Elite Dangerous for 6+ hrs and not feel the slightest bit sick. The best trick I found to improve picture quality is to run the oculus debug tool for super sampling and not the in game settings. I can set it to 1.75 and still have the graphics running smooth as silk. I believe Vive has a similar tool you can use?

@scott
You mentioned “feel of brain pressure and discomfortable” , probably due to improper IPD setting or unmatched eye relief. as you know, VR headset is optical device, so the exact subjective visual feeling highly depends on individual. we already shipped thousands of this product to the market, and most of our customers are enjoying playing VR game/video using pimax 4K. it seems the Lens are unmatching your eyes, We’re so sorry that it didn’t meet your expectation. but we want to figure out the root cause. Could you please help us try below two methods:
a. what’s your IPD? Piplay support software IPD adjustment? have you try?
b. you’re wearing the glasses, can you try the HMD without wearing glasses?
pimax support 0-500 degree nearsight auto adaption.

please send us email: support@pimaxvr.com

To PimaxVR engineers,

You should add manual adjustments for IPD (a slider will work) and myopia that will overwrite the “auto” function in case that the user is not comfortable with the settings. Can you add this in the next Piplay update?
Also image settings like brightness, contrast…will be helpful.

I look forward to further test your product as long as the development of the supporting software continues.

I an not wearing any corection googles and i dont have any eyes problem… i get perfect eyes condition and this is definetly not about that…

Fact that You sold a lot of PIMAXVR is nothing important, its obvious that we will not be able to check this so You can write that You sold milions of googles… event that its not changing any facts which we are talking about here.

That discussions is only about peoole feeling after using PIMAXVR product.

In my opinion “autoadaptation” is not working as manual/hardware adaptation. It is more like cheating optics with some software solutions which make using of googles almost impossible for longer time. Im not talking about using it like for watch couolenminutes of porn movie or a couple minutes of somw demo.
If it that auyoadaptation would be done like some motors parts to adjust optics settings - no problem but there is stable optics with software adaptation… it shoud be priority to give that device manual regulation becouse eyes and after that brain are most sensitive for even a littttle discomfort…

I know that there are a lot of ppl which dont know what to expect from that kind of hardware and they are happy even from fact it is Virtuallll realityyyyy and those are gooooogleeees 4kkkk woooow… (especially 350$)

When i got compare point to other hardware and this is not my first contact with vr i got specyfic expectations and conclusions :wink:
