Pimax should use an OLED panel from one of their 5K XR HMD's as the backlight for 8K-X

wrgb oled tv is using a white background pixel with a color filter on top (lcd?) for each subpixel, and is I think the common way to do it these days. I suspect the OP’s “counter intuitive” idea is actually the common standard for larger oleds, not sure about phone sized displays though.

Microles is miniturized road side TV. From my understanding that is similar to Oled but doesn’t use Organic leds.

Microled is still big compared to Oleds so likely when Microled is further miniaturized will likely be called something like Nanoled.

Microled panels can be attached to each other to create a scalable wall TV. (Samsung was demonstrating this I think 3 years ago)
