Hahaha, here we go again. That came about even quicker than I expected. Where did the last $30 million go?
haha yeah good question. But you can of course also see it positively. If people are still willing to pour 13.6 milion into Pimax then they must have reason to believe that there’s a bright future ahead. Otherwise they would have pulled the plug by now. I guess the sales numbers must be rather decent. I mean if they’re not selling enough or are losing tons of money, I don’t think investors would have coughed up these millions.
Well, at the end these investors will get better insight than we do.
I just hope they told Pimax during their discussions to focus better on a very select number of core products.
We shall see.
Yep. And we know they can at least go on for a while now
Well, I wish they will put more money on Crystal Super and make sure the wide FOV lens can be out with the headsets, not as an add-on.
It’s beyond my understanding that why Pimax, the one who made the best wide-FOV headsets, will regard the new wide-FOV lens as an afterthought.
9 years and they’re still getting investment. Is VR a non profit business or is it just Pimax?
I would think a chunk of money must of been written off from the Portal fiasco.
After visiting Play For Dream website, I think Pimax has wasted too much time and effort in the last few years. Now they are facing very stiff competitions.
They probably won’t be able to charge people premium prices any more.
If it were last year, the Crystal Super would have been selling like hot cakes even at $1600 level.
But this year, we have better choices.
No wonder they are pushing Dream Air, because other ones are selling similar headsets with a lower price.
Yeah, after watching MRTV last video, Shiftall are in full MeganeX production and shipping starts next month in Japan and March for the EU.
This could be the first time a high end headset has competed with Pimax on price. AVP is better but twice the price.
It’s going to be harder and harder for Pimax to gain traction with so many HMDs coming out this year. I’ve been saying this for years and its now happening. Pimax had a window to get a foothold in the market but Cystal and Crystal Light were far too big and bulky and gave way to Big Screen Beyond.
Day Dream could be too late because the Super OLED module was not on show at CES and Daydream is meant to be coming in 5 months.
In 5 months MeganeX will be at full steam and their doesn’t seem to be any downsides to make people switch to Daydream.
2025 is crunch time for Pimax. Crystal and Crystal light need to discontinued and Super needs to be their main focus in 2025 to keep the simmer market.
Well as long as this headset does indeed release outside of Japan. As their first attempt only did a limited release in Japan. Though it seems like this time they will succeed. Perhaps Panasonic was holding them back?
Did you see this?
Not good to at launch only to support SteamVR and no OpenXR.
